He’d awoken that morning as content as he could ever remember, Rose curled next to him under the duvet. He’d had no grand plans for the trip north, had just known she needed a break, and he wanted her to himself for a bit. I loved seeing the tail end of the last chapter from Peter's perspective, and then seeing the events of the elopement.

I thought it was important that we see these things from Peter's perspective; he's been through marriage before, had thought it would never happen again. Plus, he's fun to write, because he always has a slightly snarky bent when dealing with the outside world.

There's such a quiet, deep, intense love presented in these stories, and the writing presents it so simply and openly.

Thank you! I always envision Peter's love for Rose as something deep, a large, slow river that looks calm but has untold depths and currents eddying under the surface. It's rather like the Mighty Mississippi, as envisioned by Twain. And that, I think, influences the tone of the stories as much as any of the ideas that pop up.

I continue to love these stories, and it's so rare to see followup stories that do such a good job of expanding the universe of the original story.

And thank you again! Writing these stories truly brings me joy--I get to escape from the real world for a bit, and play with two people who love each other dearly. Which is all well and good, but I want to make sure I do right by them when I *do* play with their lives.

Have a lovely day (I hope you got the day off!)
