A Pants Thing

Jan 14, 2008 07:24

Their two weeks together were coming to an end, and Peter fought down the feeling of disappointment that fell over him. He and Rose had spent nearly every minute of the time together, going on walks across the fells, visiting the sea, walking along Hadrian’s Wall; they’d also spent at least a few days lazing about the house, sometimes wearing ( Read more... )

He watched her pupils dilate
How fast does that happen?

For having made something so simple Rose had absolutely destroyed the kitchen, and he spent a few minutes bringing order to the chaos before turning his attention to the pile of dishes.
He's not exactly Mr. Clean himself.

the sofa in the parlour might do the trick. Unless Rose had a hang-up about...
I probably should know what you're alluding to, but I don't.

“That you feel even a tenth of what I do.”
Peter, c'mon. Insecurity patrol, aisle 1.

He’d have to trust something would work out.
*snicker* That's awfully faithful of him.

he was momentarily confused when he failed to find any hooks to release the item of clothing.

This was great, first because everyone loves a confused Peter Carlisle, and because she was thinking about him to but it.

“I have one. If you’d like.”
Someone knew she was getting lucky...

She was fisting his hair in her hands
Because of the main action of this chapter, I might use a different verb here...

Pupil dilation? Pretty darn quick, generally speaking.

I probably should know what you're alluding to, but I don't.

He's starting to wonder if Rose has a hang-up about shagging on the sofa--or in the parlour in general.

Because of the main action of this chapter, I might use a different verb here...

*blinks* I can honestly say that never even occurred to me. But now that you've pointed it out? I'll have to edit it when I get home.

It wouldn't have occurred to me either, but I've been reading the Belle De Jour book, and it's got some discussions of that in it...

Oh, and as I didn't actually say it, great job. It was such a nice surprise to see a ficlet this morning.

Ah, Belle du Jour. 'nuff said.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! I'm going to try to start (somewhat) regularly posting ficlets on Mondays. We'll see how long that lasts--which decision will be largely influenced by the cooperativeness of my Muse.

Cheers!

Like a bowl of noodles. Sexy noodles.

I'll never look at Ramen quite the same way ;)

Perhaps I should take a break from posting Peter/Rose smut early in the mornings...

This is a fair point. And your comment made me laugh, which I desperately needed this morning.

Alright, Monday Smut'll stick around.

guh. who knew the washing up could be so fun? points to Peter for thinking of safety first though. I also like how, even though we're all mad for Rose and Peter fluff, you keep it realistic, as opposed to a rose tinted world (I tried to resist the pun, really I did).

Thank you for making my grey Monday oodles better (the sun has shone twice this month).

*mops up melted bit of brain so she can have another run at the sofa porn*

Peter is nothing, if not a gentleman. :)

a rose tinted world

*groan*

In truth, there were several times during TWoT where I had to go back and change the word "rose" to something else. Ah, the joy of a main character having a name that serves as a noun *and* a verb.

Happy Monday!

The line for Peter forms to the left. Mousse and coffee will be provided--but please do be orderly. ;)
