In the end, finding Swinson was the easiest part of the entire endeavour-if driving in circles, playing hot and cold, for several hours as the evening turned into night could be called ‘easy.’

Incredible - not only have you skillfully brought a resolution to the mystery, you've introduced a new one! I would follow this story anywhere, honestly - especially if it ended up at Torchwood. This little bit gave me a glimmer of hope - It seemed people didn’t come to Torchwood looking for work, Torchwood came looking for them. Of course, it also has me wondering if Peter would accept a position with Torchwood... *ponders*

funny that it was her romantic betrayal that had pushed him over the edge
Just goes to show that love is one man's downfall and another man's saving grace - brilliant parallel (or, perhaps, perpendicular?).

He couldn’t remember the last time he’d thought of that; during her time in Kendal, during their time together, he’d come to think of her as simply Rose.
That bit got my heart pounding a bit quicker - what a dear, dear sentiment.

Peter choked on his coffee.
Oh, I love it! Not only is it just too adorable - doesn't it show how far our dear Peter has come? In the past, he'd have probably thrown some subtle (or not-so-subtle) quip back - but now, he holds his tongue. The Rose effect is profound and far-reaching to be certain!

As ever, I love this. I can't wait for the thrilling conclusion. but as I keep saying, I'll be sad to see it come to an end.

One of the ficlets will address this...well, hopefully. I still have to write it ;)

Indeed--love is either a salvation or a damnation, depending on how much you let it control you. Good thing Peter's on the winning side of that parallel.

The Rose effect is profound and far-reaching to be certain!

Oh, definitely. :)

*sigh* You and me both.

Have a good week!
