She’d just shagged the DI. Not once-twice.
Rose couldn’t help but grin as she pulled on her knickers. The robe Peter had lent her smelled of him, and she buried her nose in the collar before taking a good look around the room.
The bed was a dark wood, beautifully carved and set off by the deep red duvet; she had to admit, he had excellent taste

Insatiable curiosity: who would have had the first seven letter word, without Rose resorting to an alien language?
Normally I am not much of a chocolate person, (yes the heavens will drop brimstone and fire) but I now have a new appreciation for chocolate mousse.
And one has to love Peter's reaction to Rose already smitten with his furniture.
This year I am buying an extra large stocking, hopefully Santa will get the hint?
Wonderfully, wonderful chapter! Both characters still have so much to learn about the other, yet their tentative trust is just so innocently refreshing.
I'm just going to go back to sleep now, (yes world, I'm sleeping in today!) with a large smile on my face. Sorry for the rambling, disjointed mind still in a state of 'guh'.

Peter, unequivocally. Nothing against Rose, but Peter uses words like that without thinking twice. If it came down to alien languages, though--Peter would lose in the blink of an eye.

You're not the first person I've met who's said that, but it does raise the question--those cookies I owe you have chocolate chips. I can change the recipe, if you like--just let me know!

They kill me dead with their tentative sweetness. It's taken a lot of work for me to shed my inner cynic and embrace that fact about them (EGT was still offering therapy and counseling on that very thing last night!).

It's the brownies, cakes, ice cream, mocha's, pudding, those types of chocolate that I am not keen on. Chocolate chips, candy bar chunks, hersheys kisses, all good :)
In fact, someone (aibhinn , I won't mention names) got me thinking I should try making those rumballs this year. Oh, do you like caramels? Homemade, they are pretty good if I do say so myself :)

Got it. I'm not terribly fond of rich chocolate things myself (unless it's just a straight-up piece of chocolate), so I think it'll be ok ;)
do you like caramels
I think so--I can't remember the last time I had pure, unadulterated caramel. I live for caramel corn (Chukar Cherries makes a phenomenal one with pecans and cherries...mmmmmmm)...so I'll say yes. :D

If she gets to use alien languages, he gets to use Gaelic. 'twould be the only fair thing to do.

There's being sweet and there's being saccharine or cloying. I doubt we're in danger of the latter two, thanks to your steady guiding hand.

Guess I'll just clear this new little ficlet off my hard drive, then....it was going to be a follow-up to what I sent over last night.
Oh, c'mon, you know I kid. That was practically a plot wererabbit you unleashed last night; I'll not be done exhausting it for quite a while, and would never maliciously delete a ficlet (unless it was really, really awful).
