I just saw an RN job posting for Bronson staffing services in ER for $38/hr, plus $5/hr extra if you work nights 7p-7am, and $2/hr extra for weekend shifts. If I only worked 2 days a week, I'd make $40,000+ a year, assuming no nights and no weekends even. I wonder what holiday pay is-- time & 1/2? Plus what Tim makes. I might have to inquire about this.... but I talked to my current manager today about getting a job in ER in April and even though we're pretty well staffed, they're going to create a job for me, whatever I want, basically. I hate to shoot that down... but $38/hr right out of school (assuming I got the job, it required 1-2 years ER experience which I have as an extern and I'll have my BSN as opposed to my ADN) would be phenomenol... pay off those studen loans quickly.... but I dont know that working that little would be helpful for me in applying to grad school for nurse anethesia or practitioner... hmmmm...
