So...I've already voted...got my absentee ballot and sent it in. At least I don't have to wait in long lines this year. :^D
And...out of boredom mostly, I went and took my StrengthsQuest to find out what my 5 strengths are... My school was pushing it and I thought, what the hell? I was curious anyway. I'm not entirely sure about my results...but okay...
--Input--
Some of what they say:
*I'm inquisitive...
*I like to collect things, ideas and information...whatever interests me.
*I keep all my books from my previous classes...
*I can spend hours on the internet searching for one thing and then follow link after link to learn anything I can..
*I am a natural researcher...
Okay...I can see some of that. I can and do spend hours online reading things and link-jumping...And yes, I have kept all my books from all my classes and they are currently overtaking my bookshelf.
--Intellection--
They say that I:
*I like to think: it may be focused; for example, trying to solve a problem or develop an idea or understand another person’s feelings... OR, it could be completely unfocused and random
*I'm introspective
*Apparently I love to study
*I also apparently ask a lot of good questions
*My thoughts can wander
Okay...Well...my mind never seems to shut off and it can be a bit of a problem when I'm trying to sleep. I've lost so much sleep because I just cannot shut my thoughts off...Um, I HATE studying...and, um, I never ask good questions in class...I tend to remain silent there because I hate talking in class...
--Individualization--
They say I:
*I am intrigued by the unique qualities of each person
*I am impatient with generalizations or “types” because I don’t want to obscure what is special and distinct about each person. Instead, I focus on the differences between individuals
*I instinctively observe each person’s style, each person’s motivation, how each thinks, and how each builds relationships
That last one...most definitely. I do read people fairly well. Whenever I see an interview with an actor or someone else...I try and focus on their body language and how they're using their words...sometimes that'll tell me something that they're not necessarily saying (such as a Hugh Laurie interview about, well he's not saying it but, his hesistation about certain things on his show...)
And the second one...yes, I do get annoyed when people stereotype others...For example, Goths. Some people think that they're strange people and are all about death and suicide...well, that's just generalizing...Annoys me so much.
--Ideation--
They say:
*I ♥ ideas
*My mind is the kind that is always looking for connections, and so I'm intrigued when seemingly disparate phenomena can be linked by an obscure connection.
*You are a creative person, and you appreciate originality
*At times, it may seem like I get lost in the world of ideas, and others may think I am a daydreamer
*I have a natural capacity to consider issues from multiple perspectives. Because I see what others cannot, it's important for me to make it clear when I brainstorm that I am laying out a diversity of perspectives to consider, rather than that I are committed to a certain one
*My mind may wander. I can use this to your advantage by letting my thoughts flow freely in class, as long as I think about the subject I are studying.
Okay...well, I do think I can see the other side of the issues and I do like finding some tiny connection to something that's hard to see...and my mind does wander, but as my thoughts wander, it doesn't necessarily focus on the class I'm in ;)
--Responsibilty--
They say:
*I take psychological ownership for anything I commit to, and whether large or small, I feel emotionally bound to follow it through to completion
*My willingness to volunteer may sometimes lead me to take on more than you should.
*I am dependable, and people know it. They count on me when something important is on the line
I don't usually willingly volunteer for things though...But...on the last one, unfortunately, they do :(
Hm...yeah...I was bored.
