As for the rl stuff, good luck with the job hunt, and hopefully good luck in film school.
Thanks. I'm crossing my fingers that I'll find something before July...my student loan deferment ends then....
How is WoW, I have never got into the online gaming thing, is mostly a console rpg girl. I just like to beat the crap out of monsters and not really into the whole social scene, would I enjoy WoW or would I be wasting my money?
Well...I am usually a console RPG'er as well...but my friends got me into WoW. There are a lot of similarities between regular RPGs and WoW. You have to level your way up, collect stuff, upgrade your armor and stuff. And the lore of the game...there's a lot of it. The series has been around for 15 years...with the MMO being around for 5. And since it's online, things change a lot. In the next expansion, the entire world is going to be changed due to what happens...which will be incredibly cool.
I usually solo my way through the game, ocassionally teaming up with my sister. I don't do the social thing much (as there are a lot of idiots and jerks around). My guild consists of only my sister and real life friends. Some people really get into the social thing and raid with large guilds. The most social thing I'll do is team up for dungeons, so I can get better armor and stuff...but other than that...I do things alone. I may join a more hardcore guild later, but not anytime soon. I like doing things alone :)
If you really want to get into the lore of the game, they do have what they call Role-Playing Realms where (at least in theory) create a backstory/personality for your character that fits into the lore.
Thanks for the info, I think I might try it. Hopefully the gameplay is fun and as long as there is a story-line I can follow I will be happy.
I haven't bought a ps3 yet, due hardly any jrpgs coming out and I don't think there will be that many, which is sad. So if I want to keep rpging I am going toward the pc route. :(
There is a bit of a learning curve, especially if you haven't played online RPGs before, but it doesn't take that long to get the hang of it. :)
I've had my PS3 for...um....how long have they been out? I've had mine about that long. I usually play more than just RPGs though. I like the action-adventure games as well. Currently, I am loving Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and Assassin's Creed II.
If they'd ever release Final Fantasy XIII.....*sigh* they keep saying it'll be 2010...but as to when, who knows. It'll probably be the end of the year if it does come out this year. And I wouldn't be surprised if it gets pushed back once more. It's all XBox's fault. They insisted that they must have the game on their system...even though it's a little too powerful for it. So now SquareEnix has to figure out a way to make it compatible with the XBox without loosing any of the awesomeness.... *sigh*
I play platforming games a bit, and rarely games like God of War. I also liked the Prince of Persia games. I will buy a ps3 when ffxii comes out, I love final fantasy, I even liked ffx2. I also really hope the rumor is true this time about a ffvii remake. I know he original has been released on the psn but still, a remake would be beyond awesome. Can you imagine the date scene in 3d? Also a new chrono/xenosaga/legend of dragoon/shadow hearts/Wild arms/Dragon Quest would be really nice. I just hope for more rpgs because that is what I really enjoy playing. I honestly only own a gamecube for Zelda. As for xbox, meh I have never liked that system. Most likely because Microsoft owns it.

If you want to try it and see if it's your thing, they do have a 10-day free trial on their site https://us.battle.net/account/creation/wow/signup/
