Growing and learning.

It's been a VERY long time since I've written in here, so here's an update.

I spent two absolutely fantastic weeks in London! It was my first real flight, first time out of the country (since Canada doesn't count), and the first time staying in a huge major city. There are so many stories I'd love to tell, but there's just too much. I loved the bars! Our favorite was The Rocket. It was only three or four blocks from our hotel and it had fantastic deals on Saturdays! The sights were fantastic! Big Ben, Parliament, St. Paul's Cathedral (absolutely beautiful!), Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, Trafalger Square, Picadilly Circus, The British Museum, Tower of London, Tower Bridge, London Bridge (Which was not as exciting as it seems), Windsor Castle, Warwick Castle, Stonehenge, Roman Baths, Stratford Upon Avon, Oxford University and that's just the "tourist" places. There are so many other fantastic things there. The street markets, street performers, the tube(subway), train stations, Italian restaurants, Chinese restaurants, coffee shops, phone booths, buses, the list goes on. Our hotel was so absurd, what a dump, but we had lots of fun in it. Beer Pong in the basement, jumping on the stairs to make them break... I fell in love with a drink called Strongbow, it's a hard cider, but oh man... I love it! I can't forget the amazing people I went with!

Now I'm back and getting used to life back here. Working 40ish hours is nice, good pay too. I just got another raise and promotion to full time, so i get insurance and all that stuff now too.

I've been going home quite a bit to see the family, it's nice to go back to something familiar and just sit around. I played basketball with my sister, washed/waxed my car, went swimming for a LONG time, got super sunburnt, went to grandma and grandpa's to visit, and had aaron over too. Very relaxing.

Chad and Jessica got married last weekend, and that was quite an eye-opener, we've all actually grown up and are starting our lives. The wedding and reception was very pretty, and even though I had to sit by myself for a bit (Aaron stood up with Chad) we had lots of fun at the reception. People from high school are getting married, some are having kids, it's scary, and a lot of things are happening so fast. People are graduating college real soon and I'm going to miss them like crazy, my brother and Aaron's sister are graduating high school next year... where did all the time go?

I'm trying to write my papers for my PS 130 class, and I'll eventually have to start the ones for 390, but it's so hard for me to do it because we never really had class... we pretty much just planned the trip and had orientations and then left... so I'm basically doing and independent study, and it's really hard, especially when i know nothing about political science, and could care less. I've got till August 1 to finish, but I'm working and have another class to keep up with... oh well.

Next weekend I'm going to Chicago w/ Aaron and the FIJI boys. It should be pretty fun since they'll all be there this time! Work term sucks because I can't see any of them...

First weekend in August I'll be in Canada with the roommates! It should be really fun. I haven't been over there to drink yet, which sounds stupid, but we just never found the time.

I realized that this summer I've been doing a lot of traveling and growing. And I think I really like it. This was all very random, but it makes sense to me.

Love to you all.
