Mmm, schmoop. And domestic family schmoop, which is the best kind of schmoop.

Domestic family schmoop is like the ur-schmoop. There were a LOT of kidfic squares on my schmoop bingo, so it's a good thing I was in a kidfic mood when I was filling those kiss prompts the other week! I'm super glad you liked it, thanks!

Awww, so sweet-- it's nice to think of Simon as being compassionate once in a while. I like how your expanded on the original.

I also loved the detail of Simon reporting the temperature in Celsius. And the fact that Ryan didn't have to ask for a conversion. Hee!

Ryan might have sneaked a look; he was in an anxious mood. But yeah, Simon is like, "99? what?" And I think Simon really is very compassionate when he thinks it's warranted.

I'm glad you liked the slightly longer version too! Thank you!

Simon making an effort to be more diurnal is hilarious.

Also the little moment where Simon tells Eric not to worry about his sister because he can't get Ryan to stop worrying about her--and because underneath of course Simon doesn't want anyone to be sick either. Maybe I'm overreading? But it seemed like a total partner moment there where Simon has to be more calm because Ryan always worries.

Also, go Eric becoming king of his hippie dippy school where they value leadership and imagination! I can totally imagine poor Simon getting into trouble at his own school. And now I wonder if he owes some of his persona to some particularly cutting teacher.

I definitely wanted Simon to be self-consciously calm because Rayn worries, though what he says to Eric I think just naturally grew out of that rather than being put in there, so not overreading, but also seeing something I wasn't thinking about on a conscious level!

Simon hated school and left as soon as he could. I liked the idea that something that seems antithetical to Simon he could come around on later, because Simon absolutely is willing to admit where he was wrong or change his mind on something.

Thank you!!!!
