I'm going to apply to
aific this week, for which I need to submit three fics. I've narrowed down the list, but still would love a little help from those of you familiar with Idol fandom.
I've decided on two of the three:
- A Dream That Could Not Last, because it might be the best thing I've written even if it is 95,000 words long
- Keep Your Enemies Closer, because it's Kradam and I'm not an idiot
I want a Rymon one-shot to round out this list because let's face it, I mostly write Rymon. KYEC is PG-13, so I'm wondering if the Rymon one-shot should be NC-17 as an enticement, or if NC-17 Rymon will gross out the fangirls and get me blackballed.
Here are the one-shots that are long enough to be real stories and stand on their own.
- Who's Afraid of Janis Ian?, season 4, NC-17, 2800 words. Ryan and Simon have no strings sex, Ryan tries to not think about it, and then Simon starts courting Ryan.
- Tipping the Velvet, season 5, NC-17, 3300 words. Ryan flirts with Ace and Daughtry and Simon pitches a fit.
- Even Cowgirls Get the Blues, season 5, NC-17, 4800 words. Simon deals with the aftermath of the Teri Hatcher incident.
- Go Fish, season 2, NC-17, 2500 words. Simon and Ryan share a suite in Miami, and Ryan has to goad Simon into action.
- Stanley and Livingstone, season 6, PG, 2000 words. Ryan and Simon's African honeymoon-the less fun part.
- I Can't Think Straight (previously No Way of Turning), pre-season 7, PG, 1700 words. Ryan Seacrest has a cold.
- Bound, season 7, NC-17, 3300 words. Simon has a moment of doubt and Ryan reassures him by being an aggressive top.
- The J-Word, season 7, NC-17, 1800 words. Ryan has a moment of doubt and Simon reassures him by being an aggressive top.
- Serving in Silence, pre-season 8, R, 1800 words. Ryan has a companion on his flight to Barbados to see Simon.
- Affinity, post-season 8, NC-17, 1600 words. Simon thinks about how Ryan fits into his live in London.
- All Over Me, season 1, NC-17, 3000 words. Ryan and Simon meet and it's all inevitable after that.
Poll Any help you can give would be invaluable; I'm really at sea here and can see pros and cons for many of the stories. Thanks!
