Friends, there is an HBIC* contest going on, and it's at the nomination stage right now, and I'm surprised that some of you haven't been all up in that shizzle. I started to make a list of the awesome for y'all, but I had 10 just for the first page and stopped. I believe I am an HBIC, but I liked it better when I thought the H stood for Hot.

I think rather than that you are an HBIC, you can be an HBIC when the situation warrants it. And then things run smoothly after that.

Hot is groovier than Head, but not as Queenly.

Hmm, someone perhaps should have nominated Emma Woodhouse.

Oh. From the links I found, I had no idea the term was derogatory! I was all, Lisa Cuddy rocks my world! So does Roseanne!

I don't think it's derogatory! I just think that to be an HBIC all the time would mean that you would be bossier than you are. You're more like, "I would like things to run smoothly, and if I have to step up to make that happen, I will." I feel like HBIC is a lot more, "Things only run smoothly when I am in charge." It isn't a bad thing, necessarily, though, not at all.

I had to look up HBIC. I'm somewhat ashamed of myself.

I too thought the H was Hot. I feel that people nominating men are sort of missing the point, though it seems that many people are missing the point while they are nominating characters whose traits are that they are very sweet and shy.

I voted for Robin and Lucille and Veronica and Roseanne, but I think if it comes down to it I shall have to vote Miranda Priestly in a poll.
