Ack! Cliffhanger! I say nothing until I find out who's in those planes.

LOL! Now I totally want to open a door and be greeted by Joel's maniacal grin.

I totally thought of this story last night when Small "Archie" David announced he was going to England. Took me a second to realize he wasn't going to Cambridge.

Props to you for using "skedaddle" unironically (and smoothly!) in a fic. Double points for using it in a sentence that used the word "reckon" said by an American.

"It's not a party until a fight breaks out" is a cliche to say, but it's totally true. It's like the adult version of toddlers getting over-tired or over-excited and bursting into tears. Love the whole situation with the two girls pushing all night and then--uh oh, it'll all end in tears.

Nice bringing in the WWI PTSD--in general I like the way you remember how WWII is so very tied to WWII for all these people, that they weren't that far apart and everybody's pretty much still dealing with the fallout in a real way, not just history.

I totally laughed when Cook cuffed Robinson's head. Ha! And Kim's totally innocent reaction. "Why would he do that?" Ha again!

The only real cliffhanger in the story, promise!

Fitting in the period slang (and the older slang via Joel) was one of the most fun parts of writing the story! Besides, my uncles and father actually talked like that.

Love your toddler analogy! They are all a little over-stressed, and the sudden release pushes things further than it might have ordinarily.

Oh, Robinson.

I'm so glad you are enjoying it! Yay!
