Seven is the stupidest number for Idol Results

My favorite part of the show? When they were "clearing things up" at the beginning and Ryan got the last word, telling Simon to do "a little more of this" (points to ear) "and a little less of this" (makes talking sign with hand). It was so awesome, so gently scolding, so grade school teacher. Ryan as kaalee. As usual, I loved the group song, though ( Read more... )

This was a fun week for me because I got to watch on Tuesday, which I usually miss. And an even better week because Sanjaya was finally gone--he truly was bad the week before. And the people I liked were all there and no the bottom two. So yay.

when did Ryan start running his finger along his lower lip like Simon does? Has he done that before? Piles of Britishisms have crept into his speech, like he's in HP fandom or something, but I'd never noticed any gestures he picked up from Simon.

This so cracks me up.

I can't quite believe that he's gone. It's like a dream. I never realized how much he interfered with my enjoyment of the show, in that I kept fearing that someone I really liked would go out before him. Weird how the audience reacted. They were ready for him to go, too. I think the fangirls have really come out for Blake and Chris now, especially Blake.

What cracks you up, the HP Britishisms reference, or that Ryan has picked up Simon's gestures?

That Ryan is totally like an HP-fandomer the way he picks up Simon's mannerisms and Britishisms. I guess also because Americans, in my experience, have such a complex about that. Did you ever see that Frasier where he starts hanging out at the English pub and using British slang and annoying everyone?

Ryan writes, Simon beta's and Britpiks. But please, no Snarry. Ryan isn't THAT young. Perhaps adult Harry/Draco? I see him as a lot more like Draco, because he's much more of a bully than an angry victim of one.

But seriously, he's always saying that someone "had a go at Simon" which isn't how an American would put it. There's other stuff but that's the one that comes to mind.

I wonder why preteen girls were so into Chicken Little? He was really boring, from what I remember. Sanjaya wasn't the best singer, but he was cute and he had a lot of flamboyance and personality.

I think mostly just that he was unthreateningly cute. But he was overshadowed by Ace, who was unthreateningly cute yet kind of hot, so as a 12-year-old you could be into him while you prolly wouldn't be into, say, Daughtry. I mean, Blake is cute, but he also has tattoos, and Richardson is cute but he has scruff and mostly looks like your older brother, so you sort of have to be ready for men to dig them.

I also notice Ryan's Britisms. I was watching E! News once and they were kind of making fun of someone(I think it was Scarlett Johannson..or was it Brittany Murphy..I don't remember.) for speaking in a little bit of a British accent(Guliana was kind of "Did she just have an accent there?) at the British Premier of something. Guiliana said something like "Ryan is next." and everyone kind of laughed.

Aaaanyway...I wonder if Simon has adopted any Americanisms or Ryan mannerisms. Probably not as much if at all. Simon is not as impressionable, but there has got to be some. We just don't really notice it.
