I thought he was gay, but he is actually gay, gay, gay. Also, bachelors and a meme.

Yes, friends, Rufus Wainwright is doing two shows at Carnegie Hall, recreating Judy Garland's landmark 1961 comeback shows in the same venue. I mean, I love me some Rufus, but I'm not sure I'm really ready to see him sing "The Man That Got Away," not because he's a man, but because he's not really a belter.

In not quite as gay news, People's Hottest Bachelors is up on the web. Taylor still makes me shudder but I'm pleased at the inclusion of Archie Kao from CSI (you know, the AV tech, total Cute Asian Guy). Nick Lachey really should be #1 as he has a hit single and is going through an infamous divorce but whatever. Also on the list, interestingly: Kenny Chesney, Ryan Seacrest and Jack Gyllenhaal. (There's even a little "which would you date" bit that includes Ryan v Simon.)

Oh, and So You Think You Can Dance has started up in earnest and how great were Benji and Donyelle? Also Martha and Travis!

I'm thinking I need to edit my icons. I don't use big piles of them. Hmm. Anyway, meme.

How many keys are on your keychain? Six

What curse word do you use the most? Fuck.

Do you own an iPod? Yes

What time is your alarm clock set for? Unless I have to be someplace before 9, I don't, because I wake up by myself between 6 and 7.

How many suitcases do you own? Two: one smallish rolling suitcase that fits very happily in an overhead compartment, and one the next size up for longer trips. I also have a duffel bag, and I usually use a backpack for weekend trips. I'm a very light packer.

Do you wear flip-flops even when it's cold outside? I don't wear flip-flops when it's hot outside. I don't like them. However, in all inside situations I go barefoot.

Where do you buy your groceries from? Fresh Direct.

Would you rather take the picture or be in the picture? Take it.

What was the last movie you watched? In the theater, Friends with Money.

Do any of your friends have children? Yes.

Has anyone ever called you lazy? No.

Do you ever take medication to help you fall asleep faster? It doesn't work on me, unfortunately, because believe me I have tried.

What CD is currently in your CD player? Oddly I don't really have one right now; I had to send it back to Toshiba because it wasn't working. I'm still making my way through two serious music dumps from the spring and fall, so I'm listening to Kara's Flowers and Apples in Stereo, but I recognize that I'm a little behind.

Do you prefer regular or chocolate milk? Soy. Don't shoot me; I'm lactose intolerant.

Has anyone told you a secret this week? Yes

When was the last time someone hit on you? That doesn't really happen to me. I mean, guys say shit to me on the street, but that's not really the same thing at all.

What did you have for dinner? Baked shrimp with feta and tomatoes, and orzo with green beans.

Do you wear hoodies often? Too often, probably. Love 'em.

Can you whistle? Yes

Have you ever participated in a protest? Yes.

Who was the last person to call you? My friend W, to coordinate going out last night.

What is your favorite ride at an amusement park? Well, I don't really like big amusement parks like Six Flags because they're all roller coasters and I'm afraid of heights. But at those fairs that I grew up with, I love anything that spins you around really fast because I never get dizzy from it, like Tilt-a-Whirl or the teacups at Disney.

Do you think people talk about you behind your back? Yes.

What area code are you in right now? 212.

Did you watch cartoons as a child? Yes.

How big is your local mall? Well, this is the thing. You could say that any one of various retail districts in the city are the mall, as they have all those mall stores. And the Manhattan Mall is crap and doesn't count. But the Staten Island Mall is fucking enormous.

Are you shy around the opposite sex? No, but I'm not very good at flirting in a serious way.

What is your biggest regret? Yick. No, that way lies madness.

Would you ever date someone covered in tattoos? I think it really depends. I wouldn't not, is what I would say.

Do you have an online journal? What an idiotic question.

What was your favorite class in high school? History.

Do you enjoy traveling via airplanes? I hate all the stuff that surrounds it. I hate airports with a passion, hate sitting on the plane waiting for it to take off, hate being squashed into a tiny space and not being able to really get up. But I like getting places quickly, and I'm not afraid of flying; I'm just annoyed by it.

What personality trait is a must-have in your preferred gender? I've always said they have to be smart, funny, and not an asshole, and everything else is negotiable. Not an asshole is by far the most important one; I've know a lot of smart and funny guys who were mean or selfish or lacked integrity and I have no time for that at all. That said, having a sense of humor about yourself and being able to laugh at situations is crucial. As for the smart, I've found through experience that guys aren't that fond of girls that are smarter then they are, and I find intelligence really attractive anyway.

Have you ever been attracted to someone physically unattractive? Well, no, I mean, they were always hot to ME, so I don't really get that. But I'm not physically driven, so it sort of doesn't matter.

What is your favorite fruit? Rhubarb.

Do you pay attention to calories on the back of packages? No, but I mostly make my own food.

How old will you be turning on your next birthday? 37

Are you picky about spelling and grammar? Only if it gets in the way of comprehension. I like to be correct just to avoid the issue but there are so many versions of correct that it can drive you insane. And you can still have amazing SPAG and be a crap writer.

Do you believe in life on other planets? Yes.

Have you ever been to Six Flags? Yes

Who was the last person to piss you off? Eh. I haven't been really pissed off in quite a while. Annoyed, certainly, but not like, screaming and yelling pissed off.

Do you get along better with the same or opposite sex? This is a ridiculous and offensive question.

What did you dress up as for your first Halloween? I don't know. There certainly aren't photos of it.

How did your parents pick your name? They didn't. I was adopted and my birth mother had named me, and my parents liked that name so they kept it, but changed my middle name and also changed the spelling slightly.

Do you like mustard? Yes.

What do you tell yourself when times get hard? To hang on.

Does it annoy you when someone says they'll call but never do? I actually really, really hate this. There are people I know that I simply no longer believe when they say they will call or say that they want to make plans because I've learned it's better not to try to leave a space in my plans for them when I'll never hear from them. The thing is, that lack of trust in their word spreads around to other things.

What books, if any, have made you cry? I don't cry at books.

Do you think you're attractive? Yes.

What are you allergic to? Nothing.

Are you a jealous person? I can be envious, like, I wish I had that thing or whatever, but if you mean in a relationship, no.

What's your opinion on sex without emotional commitment? It's not for me but I know people who have done it and it worked for them, which is fine, so long as everyone is on the same page. I think it can be used as an excuse for selfish behavior though.
