What's in a Name?

Apr 27, 2011 20:17

So, the story I'm currently working on didn't really have a name. I'd been referring to it with three different random temporary names: Sandman / Sleepwalker / That-Story-Where-People-Dream-and-People-Die-and-Stuff-Happens.

But I've finally gotten a better name. Granted, it isn't the final name, but it's better than what I had before. And I made this decision like a week ago, but this is the official name-changing post. :P

So, the new temporary name for my WIP is Phantasmagoria. I like how it just rolls off my tongue. And I love the meaning behind the word:
phan·tas·ma·go·ri·a - noun
1. A sequence of real or imaginary images like that seen in a dream
2. A constantly shifting complex of things imagined or seen
3. A scene that constantly changes or fluctuates

I like to think of this little tidbit as a bit of a spoiler, and a bit of an explanation as to what my story is about. I want to keep it on the down-low for a while, at least until I finish it, so I won't really be talking too much about what's happening in the story.
But yes, Phantasmagoria. It sounds so sexy. :D
