MGMT

Mar 10, 2011 00:09

So, yesterday I went to see MGMT.

Man, it was fairly awesome.

Me and my bf and friend were up the front, only one layer of people separating us from the barrier and the stage.

A Perth-based band called Pond opened for them, with two of the members shirtless, and another wearing pyjamas, and another not wearing any pants. It was quite interesting. The lead singer looked and sounded like a 15 year old wannabe Michael Cera on a sugar high, which made it all the more exciting.

When MGMT came on at 10:30, the crowd went crazy. And I am proud to say that I was one of the persons that joined in with the screaming.

Main guitarist/sound effects dude/keyboardist, James Richardson was right in front of us, which was awesome, because he was just so into it. He looked like he was having so much fun, and he was making the crowd participate with all the sound effects in the songs. It was an awesome experience.

Now, I wasn't a die-hard fan of MGMT before this. I had briefly heard some of their stuff before hand, and had thought them to be cool, but this concert completely changed my mind. They have turned me into a die-hard fan with their amazing, energetic live show.

Seriously, when Electric Feel, or The Youth, or even Weekend War came on, everyone was just jumping up and down, going crazy.

Now, for pictures!!

Ben Goldwasser.
He ended up jumping off the stage and running in front of the barrier. AND I TOUCHED HIS HAND! *hyperventilates*
I will never wash this hand again.

Then my boyfriend caught a drumstick that James threw!!!!!!!!!! *screams*
AND, he gave it to me. Like, to keep. I am lost for words.

And that's the end of my lovely little post about MGMT. I highly reccomend this band. They are awesome.
