Ten Things on a Thursday

Dec 09, 2010 04:55

Yay, it's Thursday!

1. I don't know why I care so much that it's Thursday, since I'm on holidays for as long as it takes to find a job (see #2.), so all my days just blur into one massive day. Seriously, it's times like these that I need to go to school. Thank god for my calendar and my super scary organisation when it comes to said calendar, or else I'd barely be able to tell what day it is.

2. I need to find a job. Only thing is, I don't know how to write a proper resume. I've googled, but the results all come up with different things. Man, this is probably what querying is like. *flails* Plus, I have nothing worthy to put on my resume. I've never had a job before, I haven't volunteered in any events, and I have next to no leadership skills.

Maybe, I should just apply for jobs at book stores, and my resume can be a picture of my bookshelves. That'll show that I know my way around books. :P

3. I've started reading Anna and the French Kiss, and MAN, IT IS AWESOME. It's so cute, and I'm in love with the love interest. I don't want him to get with Anna; I want him all for myself.
I urge all of you to go read it. NOW.

4. I'm going to be taking a slight break from Fool's Gold (and from all novelling, really) for a small while. Instead, I'll be focusing on short stories, and possibly fanfiction. We'll see. The hiatus won't last long, it'll probably be over before the year is out. I just need some time to recover from NaNo.

5. I've suddenly gotten a whole bunch of books to read from the library:

From the top:
Soulstice - Simon Holt
Love, Stargirl - Jerry Spinelli
You Know You Love Me - Cecily Von Ziegesar
Blue Moon - Alyson Noel
Red Dragon - Thomas Harris
Darkness Crepping - Neal Shusterman
The Eyre Afair -Jasper Fforde
It Had To Be You - Cecily von Ziegegesar
The Summoning - Kelley Armstrong
Pegasus - Robin McKinley
Room - Emma Donoghue

And another set of books:

From the top:
Halfway to the Grave - Jeaniene Frost
Christmas with the Duchess - Tamara Lejeune
Ten Ways to Be Adored When Landing a Lord - Sarah MacLean
Stray - Rachel Vincent
Breathe - Donna Jo Napoli
Six Impossible Things - Fiona Wood
My Soul to Take - Rachel Vincent

I'm in for a busy month. ^-^

6. Erm.. I've run out of things to talk about. Hm, next week, if the weather holds up *fingers crossed*, I might go to the beach. Yay! I love beaches. I love summer. I love the feeling of sun and heat and not rain. :D wheeeeeeeee!
Though, this summer has been fairly uncool. It's been raining practically nonstop.

7. My boyfriend and I realised that there are only 5 Starbucks cafes in Melbourne nowadays. I remember the time when there was over 100 of them. Man, those were the days (they really weren't...). Anyways, with my newfound love for their Gingerbread lattes/frapachinos (HEAVEN IN A CUP!), we decided that one day - hopefully soon - we shall go on an epic adventure... A Starbucks marathon!

Okay, it's not as cool as it sounds. Basically, we plan to visit all 5 of those Starbucks' in one day. Which will be too easy since three of them are on the same street (I'm not kidding) (proof: http://www.starbucks.com.au/Store-Locator.php?state=VIC&stores=all )
So yeah, our day will be awesome. /sarcasm.

Oh god I am lame. >.<
8. If you haven't already, enter my giveaway. You have until 10am next Monday (GMT).

9. Um... Something else...

Well, it's 5am. I have really fucked up sleeping patterns. I now sleep from about 5am to 2pm. I should change this. It's probably not good for me.

10. I just finished watching Gossip Girl, season 3. OH MY GOD.
I don't want to spoil it for anybody, but OH MY GOD.

Can I just say that Blair and Chuck are my favourite couple of all time? I would practically give up my own relationship if it meant that theirs would survive (okay... maybe not...). I love them both so hardcore. I hated it when they had their on-again off-again thing. And the season 3 finale... OH GOD. I almost cried.

Now, to take my mind off Gossip Girl (until season 4 comes out), I've started watching Avatar (the TV show). I love that show so much :3

And that's it. I hope your Thursdays have been exciting. :3
