Something random, ten things on a Thursday.
Todays edition will revolve around things I need to write. And it will be all pictures, since that'll be fun and interesting, I guess. :P
10.
I am a massive Pokemon fan. I should have grown out of it, but alas, I have not. Everytime I feel a little bit stuck, I play a bit of Pokemon. Despite the repetitive storyline, it's just done really well. And it's fun. Oh hell yeah.
9.
Books. I need books all the freakin' time. If I don't read, I don't get ideas, and I don't learn more about the art of writing. I like to think of reading as a form of studying. The more I do it, the more I know about the rules and techniques of writing, and it gets easier to apply them to my writing.
Plus, reading is just fun. :P
(lol at my expression)

That's my iPod. I love it. I love listening to music as I write. I have playlists for all my stories, with songs that relate to certain scenes, or stuff that pump me up and get me motivated to write. Most of the songs I listen to are very fast paced; I find myself often typing along to the beat of the music, so I figure that the faster the beat, the faster I'll type, and often, it works. :P
7.
My trusty USBs. I'm only holding two, but I have another one in my bag, one in my wallet and also two external harddrives, each of which I back up every Sunday. I'd hate to lose my work, so I have to be veryyyyyyy cautious.
6.
Chocolate. I love it. I always have some chocolate when I write. Or if I can't get my hands on any chocolate, then some other form of small candy, like Reece's Pieces or Skittles or something of the sorts. I like rewarding myself with a few tiny bits of chocolate for every 100 or so words that I write. It's a great way to motivate myself.
5.
Since most of my stories have something to do with fairytales, it makes sense to have a book on fairytales nearby. If I need some inspiration, then I'll flick through this book onto a story that's similar to the one I'm working on, and search for themes that I could use, imagary and whatnot.
4.
If you don't understand what you're seeing, don't worry, I don't either. That is supposed tobe my desk, but alas, it's all messy. Now, usually I like having a clean work area, but lately I've just been neglecting it. I'll have to fix that sometime and post what it looks like when it's all clean and sparkly and pretty.
3.
This here is my little muse. It's a pig. With one wing. The other wing broke off somehow, and its remaining wing is being held on by blu-tack. But it still manages to do its job and give me ideas. It's a weird little thing that i just love, I unno. *shrugs*
2.
That's my notebook with a tiny bit of my outline. On that page is chapters 6-10. And there's a whole bunch of highlighting and crossing out going on. It's hard work outlining. :-/
1.
Dr. Pepper. I am obsessed with that stuff. It tastes like cough medecine--which I absolutely abhor--but for some reason I can't stop drinking it. And if I'm not drinking Dr. Pepper, then it's tea. Unfortunately, I've run out of tea, so I can't show a picture of any. :(
But you get the point.
Well, there you have it, my 10 things on a Thursday special "Things I need to write" edition. Quite awesome.
what about you guys? What 10 things do you need when you write? I urge y'all to write up a blog post and use pictures because it's mega fun (albeit time consuming).
