(The following is a continuance of
this scene.)
The battle wasn't going well...but it could be a lot, LOT worse.
The chimp had arrived, and he brought backup - but it sure as heck wasn't the Justice League.
Sand had surveyed the situation. Chimp was on his way to meet with Corrine and Caleb, to add the last ingredient of the potion. Tefe Holland (

"Oh joy, we've got fire *AND* ice in the mix." Shimmer says. "Think you can paper train the puppy over there, Baran?"

When it comes right down to it, however, she can't just stand by and watch. A frown creases her brows and she ignites.
"Train this." It isn't shouted. It isn't even a raised voice. It's a simple statement followed up with a blast of green fire drawn in a line in front of Shimmer and Mammoth.

Immediately the sky above Fire changes to rain. No rainclouds...just drops of water.

The thought makes her smirk as she takes flight and puts on the speed towards Shimmer, intent on a quarterback blitz.

Zan sizes up the situation a moment longer. Blades will be of little use where there is no killing to be done. The sudden downpour from the sky gives him an idea, however. The edge of one bladed arm brushes the fur of Jayna's back. A massive wall of water crashes into Mammoth in the next instant. It won't last long; Zan is young yet and maintaining the surface tension of unsupported water would be difficult for one with decades more experience than he has. Still, it'll make breathing interesting prospect for Mammoth for a minute or so. Zan just hopes the impact knocked some of the wind out of the human first.

Shimmer, however, manages to move out of the way of Fire's power-dive. She tries a different, more subtle tack - transforming the air immediately around fire into a solid block of lead, not tight against the body, but enough to encase her.

Her fire extinguishes without fuel and she thunks to the ground. Hard.

If there is oxygen to breathe, then it can burn. She won't have to do much. Lead is heavy, but soft. A blast in just the right spot and she can burst her way out.
She calms the rising panic and focuses her fire into her fist, releasing it in a single blast against the lead shell.

Brainwave touches Mammoth, and a hard psionic blast drops him to the ground, stunned, but not unconscious.
He then turns toward the Twins. Initial passive scans showed their thought patterns to be of alien descent - and they definitely didn't speak English.
So he did the next best thing. Before the creature could move or react, Brainwave touches her - and in a matter of moments, does a hardcore download of the Exorian language from her brain. She knows it's happening, but it's painless to her.
HE, on the other hand, has a migrane when he's done. But when he speaks next, he speaks in their language. "I'm sorry about that, but I had no other way to communicate with you. Thank you for your help."

The moment Mammoth's eyes open, he sends a burst of energy at the spot, trying to fire every nerve there at once. If he's doing this right, it should end up being, for all intents and purposes, a painfully bright flash of light that only Mammoth can see.

From the immense pain to the brain, the monster finally passes out.

"Boy are you a sight for sore eyes." Sand says, and immediately winces at the unintended pun. "Hold on, let me dial you into the party line." He then looks towards Brainwave. Hank, please add him into the braintrust.
In a second, Travis is now part of the mindlink.
