Caleb would argue under normal circumstances that averting his eyes is merely respectful. The disappointment that it's not him anymore is clearly written across his face. The fact that perhaps it never was, from the things Corrine said in January, doesn't make this moment any easier.
Sand has entrusted her to Caleb's care, however, and more importantly, Corrine has conceeded to the judgement. As always, she'll have every ounce of breath left in him. He takes the rest of the moment to retrieve the flask from Trevor before he watches him leave.
"Mr. King," he says politely and turns to Brainwave. "Excuse my presumptiousness, but time is of the essence." Careful to avoid Corrine, Caleb pulls in energy from the area, beginning to weave the spell to cloak the telepath's presence from their enemies. After a few long moments of concentration, he's finished, and it's only a quick addition to add a psychic poison for Henry and himself. "Should the spell be broken and they discover your presence here, I've made an addition that should slow their attack on you. Let's hope it doesn't come to that."
One last look at everyone as they take their positions and Caleb follows Corrine's lead up the stairs.

Something he hadn't worn since Kahndaq, all those months ago.
He thinks briefly about his descent into madness, and his ascent to normalcy. Then he puts it out of his mind and focues on the plan at hand.
"Sandy, I sure hope you know what the hell you are doing."
