He floats almost serenely above the fray, searching for a target of opportunity - one that sings to his senses.

His efforts, for now, focus on bolstering his allies - old enchantments of protection, particularly to guard their psyches against the chaotic onslaught.

One of the Eclipsed Lanterns Dragons spies the Stranger and it rears back it's massive head. Then quite suddenly, it lunges forward with onyx and emerald flame spewing forth as it snaps it's great jaws down upon the grey wanderer.

And suddenly the Atom's size increases to his normal few inches, and he blasts Eclipso with the solar ray.

"Eat sunlight, you monster!"

He raises a hand, invoking a spell of warding so old that it has no name, creating a pale translucent disk to hold the dragon's jaws apart - flinching as they impact the shield, nonetheless.

The Eclipso possessed Lantern falls back from the brilliant onslaught of sunlight. There is a mystical factor to Eclipso's weakness to the light of day. The artificial reproduction isn't quite the genuine article, so the Chaos Lord retains his hold upon the wielder of the Starheart. Even so, a cry of anguish escapes his lips and a moment of clarity flickers across Alan's face.

"S..stop..him!" comes the Elder Lantern's voice between gritted teeth.

Todd spies his Eclipso, but stops just before engaging him. The mark is gone, and that's his dad again.

He can't help but smile.

"Working on it, Alan," says Ray, growing to his full height now for his second solar blast.

A snarl emerges from Alan and the shadow mark aprears on his face again. With a quick gesture, shards of razor darkness and bolts of green fire slam into the Atom as he levels his weapon on the possessed Lantern.

"Todd." comes a voice that is not Alan's.
"Why fight us brother? You cannot deny the darkness in your soul."
Smokey shadows spill from the eclipsed eye of Alan Scott and begin to roll over Obsidian. A strange and seductive chorus of sibilant whispers threaten to penetrate the mind of the Lantern's son...

He moves to assist the Atom, who has an important part yet to play. With a sweep of his arm, he flings a fine powder in an arc between the Tiny Titan and the eclipsed Green Lantern.

Surprisingly, the only magic this powder bears is a spell of telekinesis to keep it suspended in the air for longer than is ordinary - otherwise, it is common sawdust.

Dammit! There is only so much she can do so she stays focused on her part of this...trying to negate the negative emotions that are feeding the bastard.

"mlaC!"

She puts all her effort into it, focusing her will as tightly as possible onto Alan. And she hopes someone has her back or this could turn into a pain to be remembered for a very long time.

Normally, the darkness that Eclipso wields would be unaffected by mere wood particles. The Chaos Demon is now faced with an unwelcome surprise. In wresting control of the Starheart, he has invested 'too much' and it's vulnerabilities are now his.

Both emerald fire and shadowy shard are dissipated into harmless vapor as they encounter the fine powder of fibrous cellulose.

At the same moment, Eclipso feels as if the floor fell away from under his feet and his possessed host falls to one knee as the mark on his face wavers in and out of focus. The rage and hatred is draining away. An unwelcome image begins to blossom from deep within his mind; Alan, holding his children in his arms.

"NNNooooo!!" it screams, as black and green explodes in all directions.

"Daddy..." Jenny turns, looking for the source, looking for her father. "DADDY!!!"

The voices in Todd's head are only voices, with no power over him. It's taken him this long to learn that, and as such, he can easily repel them from his mind.

The image of his father holding him and Jade, however, stays there.

"Dad!"

Todd covers himself in shadow and flies straight into the explosion. He's not losing him.

She had thrown herself to the ground, covering her head when the explosion hit. She can't really hear much of anything at the moment so she just remains where she is hoping things aren't gonna get worse.

Worse? It could get much worse.
A great battle for the soul of Alan Scott reaches it's zenith even now...
