Nearly microscopic, The Atom searches the melee for Eclipso. Freeing Alan is the priority, but he's got to admit, there's a score to settle on his mind.

Swathed in darkness and verdant flame, the Eclipsed Alan Scott hovers above, unaware of Doctor Palmer's presence. Gouts of green and black become mighty dragons that belch caustic fire and lash out at the heroes with ebon claws.

She appears through a portal of her own creation nearby Ray, her eyes looking for Alan with fierce intent. She is ready, focusing her intent towards what she wants to accomplish, but she doesn't want to get too far away from Ray so he can use that...gun...thing.

The chunk of floating debris that Zatanna stands on suddenly erupts in green and black fire all around the lady magus. From the unearthly inferno shamble forth green fleshed rotting corpses. With an unholy and unrelenting hunger, they lurch towards Zatara's heir, fingers grasping and hollow eye sockets burning.

She summoned a shield instinctually, covering her head in reaction. Her eyes widen in surprise when she finally looks. "Zombies? You have got to be kidding me!"

Her first thought is to shunt them away with a kinetic blast but then she gets an idea...and hopes this works.

Extending her arms forwards, she pushes out towards the animated corpses. "em tcetorp dna esaeC!"

Trying to wrest control of these things brings Zattana in direct contest with the power of the Starheart and the terrible will that wields it. It's like standing before a tidal wave. In that momment, Zattana knows that she is going to be crushed before that avalanche of raw power and will.

Then at that moment, the Atom hits the Eclipsed Lantern with his sunlight projector and the impending flood crashing down upon Zatana's resolve begins to buckle. Deep within the fury of the Starheart, Zattana can sense another will working against Eclipso, something deep within Alan is aiding her.

As sweat beads on her brow, she feels the tide to begin to turn and little by little, the horde of Zombies begin to obey her commands.

Her knees had begun to give beneath the onslaught she was fighting against, her teeth gritted together. She had a moment there where she thought this might be the moment she gets to see her father again when the force lessened and things turned in her favor. And she felt that tiny spark of assistance.

She takes but a moment to blink away her surprise and relief then she barks out to the zombies she holds in sway. "mih dloh, tol uoY! uoY! em tcetorP!"

As they shamble to do her bidding, she turns her attention to inside Alan and that spark that she felt. She has a moment of doubt...if this fails....if she loses control of the zombies....NO! She grasps onto the very real fact that she cannot fail, MUST not fail. Using that desperation, she focuses it on Alan. She wants that tiny part that she felt to grow stronger within him while also wanting to calm the more negative emotions that are part of the problem.

The effort is titanic, but Zattana can feel a thread-thin connection from deep within Alan tenuously hold on to her support. It is the faintest of whispers, but it is there.

Even so, Eclipso seems to be regaining ground in the mental struggle.
