Why don't they answer me? He thinks to himself as he runs through the hallways of the royal palace. A left turn here. A right turn here. He stops for a brief second to marvel at the recently created atrium, a gift from Teth Adam's people to him for all he has done for them. They have come so far over the past year, certainly further than any of them thought possible before their great ruler returned to them. He turns the corner and walks up the hallways to the reception hall. Seeing the Kings personal attendant, he approaches the man.
"Where is the King? I beg forgiveness for any presumed insolence, but His Majesty has an appointment this morning."
"His majesty is indesposed. I have been instructed to tell any visitors that the king is in private meditation and is not to be disturbed." The arrogance of the attendant causes the Foreign Minister to wrankle some. Best maintain composure.
"But for how long? I'm the foreign minister! We have important diplomatic affairs to which we must attend."
"Then I suggest you do your best in the King's stead because he will not be disturbed."
The Foreign Minister has been at this a long time. He knows when he's being fed a line and the King's attendant, while good, is obviously concealing something, "Is there more you should tell me, sir?"
The arrogance drops, for a second, and the attendant approaches the foreign minister and whispers in his ear, "You will have to do your best because the King is indesposed until further notice. His majesty has faith in you or he would not have chosen you for this position."
Until further notice? The Foreign Minister thinks to himself, Where in the name of the Six Gods has their lord and master gone?
