He was there to meet with Lois and Pieter - today they were doing an ultrasound, and the possibility existed that Pieter could make a gender determination.

The morning papers changed that.   He arrives at the brownstone, looking for his wife primarily but for any of the other JSA regarding what happened with Alan.

She's showing. Heaven help her, people can look at Lois Lane now and think, That girl's getting pudgy. In Clark's Smallville t-shirt and leggings, she emerges from the kitchen gnawing on something hot and sweet of Ma's creation.

"Oh. Um...hi."

Goofy smile.

Superman walks in after talking to the trio leaving the building. He's genial, but a bit distracted. "Hello." He looks around. "We're pretty much alone at the moment. I take it you know about Alan."

Lois nods once before putting a hand on Clark's chest to give him a kiss. "I did. I...it's hard to believe. Any of it. Can you help them at all?"

"Not at the moment. I did offer my help to Wildcat. Aside from my obvious desire to help, if I'm going to be around regularly at the Brownstone, I should be working more regularly with the JSA, before people actually wonder what I'm doing here all the time." He pauses. "But if they need me, they'll have me."

"Makes sense. If you can spare the time. How're things with the JLA, anyways?" Lois keeps her arm around Superman's waist because she likes it that way.

"It's not like I'm not used to being two places at once." He smiles as he says this. Having Lois around is a comfort.

"Quiet. The Themyscyira incident is getting grim. War looks imminent." A pause. "Zatanna restored Bruce's memories of the Dr. Light incident. He wasn't doing well when I saw him. Between this and the Society attack on Titans Tower..."

He has a pained, somewhat frustrated look.

"You have your plate full and then some," Lois nods. Not like Superman doesn't always take on more than he needs. Mr. Hyper-Repsonsible, that's him. "If I can help bounce some things off Lex where Themyscira goes, let me know. I'd love to get my feet in that. Look, Clark, you don't have to take care of everything, you know. If Bruce is being a butthead, get him out to do things. Got it?"

"Actually, it's somewhat slow for me. Diana made me swear not to get involved with her issues - she doesn't want Luthor to spin my helping her as taking sides against the United States. Bruce will be OK. Some nutcase will blow up Arkham and he'll be happy once again."

He pauses. "I just want something to punch. Something I can let loose on."

Lois raises both brows. That's not exactly typical for the Man of Steel. "Ah, why don't we reschedule our visit with Pieter until next week?" she teases. "So you don't take your frustrations out on him. Heaven knows I do that enough to the poor doctor."

On hearing this, Kal snaps out of his thought process. "Of course not. Time with my two favorite people is exactly what the doctor ordered." He kisses her, hand resting on her tummy.

He likes to live dangerously.

"Watch it, Smallville," Lois laughs. "Come on. Let's not keep the doctor waiting."
