Green Lantern Murdered!
In the late hours of the evening, near Gotham Business and Industrial Park, eyewitnesses reported seeing Green Lantern of The Justice Society of America locked in a desperate struggle with metahuman assailants.
The battle resulted in several grisly civilian deaths and significant property damage as the super powered titan’s engaged in combat. Witnesses claim that Green Lantern protected onlookers from harm until he was finally defeated and killed. One witness claims to have seen the assailants actually tear the veteran hero’s heart from his chest at the climax of the conflict. There are some conflicting stories regarding police involvement in the attack however those are being disregarded as hysterical panic. The identity of the attackers are so far unverified, however police sketches have been released (page 2A)
