The distraction worked! Wotan's turned to face Johnny Quick, and holy socks, that blast is close! His grip on Wotan's cloak is loosened, as he has to devote every ounce of his muted speed to dodging whatever mystical malarkey that's just been thrown at him!

"Ignorant pest! You've been a thorn in my side for years!"

Wotan tries to backhand Johnny with his left hand, while with his right, he grabs for a weapon. Shining Knight's sword.

"Now it is time to end your infernal interference."

The backhand does catch him, but it doesn't quite drop him. With some fancy footwork, he manages to stay on his feet, but he's unsteady.

"Hey, Wotan, if you'd rather, I'd be happy to be a thorn in your hind quarters instead!"

One hand is engaged in combat with Johnny. One hand is reaching for a weapon.

The Flash's speed is needed.

He moves as quickly as he can -- even with his powers muted, he hopes he can be faster than the eye can follow.

His hand jabs out for the amulet.

Wotan realizes what's happening too late. He turns to bring Sir Justin's sword down on the Flash, just as Jay's fingers wrap around the train.

And in the moment that it pulls from around Wotan's neck, everything changes.

And suddenly, it looks like the sword is moving in slow motion.

The Flash can easily avoid the attack from Sir Justin's sword. Time to return the sword to its rightful owner.

A punch flies out at super speed towards Wotan's hand, as the Flash hopes that such a blow will make him drop the weapon.

Surprised and unready for the attack, his grasp on the sword loosens.

As his fingers relinquish it, the blade disappears. Returning in a flash to the hand of its true owner.

"Now, villain," says Sir Justin, raising the gleaming sword into the air. "Let's see what happens when the tables are turned."

"Flash," shouts Fate, now seemingly stronger but not yet returned to full strength -- but then, he was probably the most wounded in this affair.

"Bring me the amulet!"

The scarlet speedster is at Fate's side in a... Flash!

"Doctor! Here!" He hands the amulet to the mystic hero.

The amulet clenched in Fate's hand, the hero is bathed in light. Gone is the half-helmet, the tattered costume.

In its place stands revealed the full Helm of Nabu.

Doctor Fate is back.

"Wotan," says the cold, echoing voice. "The time has come for this to end."

And from the champion of Nabu's fingers shoot a torrent of ankh-shaped rays.
