It has been a while since Steel has flown over the city.
It seems like a long time since Superman died in that fight Doomsday. He almost died that day, but Superman saved him.
That was why he first put on the armor. He wanted to honor the man that saved his life. He wanted to give someone for the kids in the neighborhood to look up to. That was why he modeled his armor after the old story of Henry Irons. The man that beat the machine. He even built in a rivet gun into the armor and used a sledge-hammer.
Somewhere along the way, he left the machine beat him. He let the job beat him.
Superman can't do it alone. Not and have a life. Maybe he can help out just a little.
