Following the chaos, Ralph hadn't been too worried. He just checked under the desks and tables, knowing well Sue typically takes cover in a fight. No big deal, right? Then he went on to ask people if they'd seen her - perhaps someone helped her out a back door ( Read more... )

Sue is not accounted for. Her purse is still there. So are the stacks of invites to the New Years Eve Wedding. The stacks of betting pool money is still there with a note on her PDA to pay Wally for the winning entry (which is also there).

The tape shows Warp coming up from behind. There's too much chaos to hear, but Ralph can lipread like a champ.

"I have my orders, milady. Zey are quite generous to you."

Sue is about to call him a son of something when they both blip out.

Ralph goes through the JLA archives, trying to find known associates of the villain, tracing back, then moving forward, even in a near panic, he remains efficient and observant.
A call is placed to Ollie, then Wally, then Jay, leaving messages on their answering machines with a quick rundown of the situation.
With a kidnapping, not clues are likely to be found in the things she left behind, so he starts working with what he has.

Wally is at Ralph's side within moments of getting the message.

"How can I help, Ralph?"

Ralph's expression, for those who know him well, suggests near panic. Which also means his mind is racing through the possibilities and what to do next. "I need a search done through the archives for known associates of Warp. I also need to get a hold of Deathstroke... he has things to answer for... it was his attack, I need to know who hired him, and I don't have time to screw around. Failing finding him, round up any of the villains in the assault for questioning... it doesn't seem like Deathstroke's style, but maybe someone found his price."
