Jade has been sent ahead while the other preparations continue. She could sense them growing restless, even encouraged it. Still, the preparations were over.
She went over to the unconscious form of Donna Troy.
Across North America there was a species known as the passenger pigeon. It was said that what you needed to do to get a feast of the birds was capture one, cage it in an obvious place and let it's fellows hear it. Let the flock come to its aid. Then all the enterprising hunter would have to do is shoot them from the sky. The birds would keep coming back too. Over and over they would come to assist their captured member until none of them flew again.
Such a lovely captive bird she had...and her flock just kept coming to try to get to her. And they brought others...so many others...
Time for the feast.
"Assemble before me!" Those in the waiting room feel that pull. "We are ready!"
