All along the Clocktower

It's been 4 days and still no trace of her. Dammit. I've tried every avenue I can think of, and all I've come up with so far is that she was probably taken away from that facility by magic, as opposed to technological teleportation.

Not by Talia, I don't think. Which doesn't mean she helped--I bet she did, and I bet she got a good price for her assistance.

Mary's finally quieted down. Thank goodness.

Maybe I need to take a break ... do something else, think about something else, let my subconscious work on it for a while and see if inspiration strikes.

We can't keep Brainiac-5 here forever, and not just because he's sleeping on our couch. I need to schedule the surgery if it's ever going to work ... Dinah would so kick my ass if I didn't, after what she did to make sure I'd get the nanotech. And the kids she saved--I need to remember that the mission wasn't a total failure, and not just because of what she's done for me.

I should tell Daddy. Lying to him again. Hate that.

Barbara Gordon Grayson picks up the phone and dials her father's number. "Daddy? Babs. How would you like to have dinner with us tomorrow. We can drive up to Gotham or you can come down here--which would be better?"

oracle, cry for vengeance, jim gordon
