She's shaking as they make thier way through the semi-well wishers and run outside. Without a word, she wraps an arm around Roy's waist and flies to the roof of Warriors. Once up there, half of her mind screams to let him go and back off. She doesn't. They are facing one another. The arm stays and they are close enough to make her shake even

It didn't occur to him that she might want to get married. "Well, I was going to ask if you wanted to go on a road trip with Connor, Lian, and I. Not that the idea doesn't appeal to me..."

There is some sand in the gears of her mind right now.

"Which idea? The road trip?"

"Well, I was hoping that if things worked out for us that one day we'd get married...I'm man pretty you know. My genes should be passed on."

There's a million things to say. Not a one comes out. Her arms tighten around him and she buries her head in his shoulder.

Roy patts her on the back and kisses her forehead. "That was just me you know. If you have other ideas..."

That earns him a very small laugh. She's not letting go.

"That's why you've been so nervous, hasn't it?" She shakes her head. "There's a lot I want to sort out with you. I'm even sure I can...that's one of the things I wanted to talk to you about." Why is this so difficult? "But I want that too. Everything you mentioned. With you." She moves back to look at him face to face. "You or not at all."

"Does that mean you want to go on the road trip?"

"I don't know," she teases. "I mean can you handle that kind of pressure if you still can't bring yourself to kiss me? I mean if all of a sudden Connor started looking more interesting I'll just have to find someone cute at the party -"

"Oh, I can kiss you," Roy says. And then he does. Very passionately.

She could lose herself here. Her hand snake up through his hair while the other rakes fingernails lightly down his back. Every second here feels both familiar and incredibly new. That disconnect is here. It's not coming between them as much as she feels almost hovering over them. Her arms tighten and draw him even closer. Let it watch. There is nothing between them at this moment.

She moves her lips lightly to his neck, feeling his pulse moving quickly. "No, I don't 'owe,' you." She whispers. "But what do you want? What are you ready for? I'm not telepathic. I may say 'yes.' I may say 'no.'"

"We broke up last time. Now, we've both grown up since then, which is good. I think we just need to give ourselves a few months and make sure we don't drive each other crazy. That's part of why I was asking you to go with us on the road trip. If we survive that, we're ready," Roy says. "When I get married, I want that to be it. I just want to give us the time we need."

She takes one of those breaths that focuses her mind back on reality.

"I'm...really hazy on what happened with us. One day, I...I hope you can tell me what happened. All of it." She looks down. "I have some things I have to tell you too. Maybe tonight isn't the right time though."

She shakes her head. "There is one thing I know though. It's not negotiable and I don't want it dependent on what happens here." She moves his bangs out of his eyes. "Whatever happens with...us...I love that little girl, Roy. Bobby was used as a bargaining chip with Terry. I don't want that. Ever. Lian...deserves a couple of grown ups."

"I couldn't keep her from you if I wanted to. She's an amazon you know..."

She blushing. Obviously touched and pleased but still blushing. "I noticed. I'm...amazed. That's a level of trust that still shocks me on both of your parts." She sighs. "I...should have trusted that. I'm sorry about the restaurant and getting defensive about...her." She kisses him quickly to remove the stormclouds in mind. "Forget it."

Roy doesn't comment. There's some smooching to be done and Roy’s the man to do it. This is better than being on the cover of Teen Beat magazine.

Everything in her bearing....the intesity of the kiss...her moving her hands to his hips and under his shirt. If this keeps up, other arrangements will have to be made for Lian.
