Dr. Nancy Saunders has been named acting CEO and Chairperson of GeneSolutions Inc. following the sudden resignation of former CEO and Chairperson Tanner Kae. When asked to comment on Kae's resignation, Dr. Saunders said, "I'm afraid I can't really comment on that. I have no idea what happened with Mr. Kae, and I'm afraid my first priority is to our stockholders, and keeping this company afloat upon his resignation."

Kae was unavailble for comment, and has seemingly not been seen in recent days, fueling speculation of an embezzlement scandal at GeneSolutions.

Saunders, 45, has been lead researcher for GeneSolutions for five years, following years as a researcher at Lexcorp nd NASA. Usually considered the world's foremost expert on on the metagene and xenobiology, and a researcher on the human genome project, Saunders seems an unconventional pick for the CEO post, but the appointment came at the insistence of several board members, including board member and oil executive Jordan McIntyre, who was hospitalized recently in Gotham after an accident inspecting property he owns in the city.

"Dr. Saunders has a sharp mind, an intimate knowledge of her field and is one of the most intensely devoted and ethical people I know," said McIntyre. "She's got new ideas, and I'm certain she's going to lead this company into the future."

Saunders, shown here at the recent McNider Fund Ball in Gotham with maverick business man Ibn Head and the controversial activist and Justice League member, Wonder Woman -- who recently has been accused in an attack on a passenger plane -- is unmarried with no children, and holds partial patent on more than 20 biotechnology advancements.

In other news, Secretary of Education Jefferson Pierce was released from the hospital after his recent heart troubles. Doctors declined to give details, but said that Secretary Pierce was "in the clear to return to work."
