Her voice is bitter. "Hello Mr. Connors. I saw you took an interest in my off-the-clock activities - above and beyond what the ethics boards allow." She's near tears, but she doesn't let them fall. "Why?"

If you wanted to be taken seriously, you should have come out in the open in the first place. Filed the proper forms, signed over the proper licences to Elevast...but instead you played around like this was a science-fair project. Too bad. You snooze, you lose.

"Snooze I lose! This was on my time. It says in the damn employment contract that ideas can be pursued so as long as the experiment can be duplicated. And if that doesn't work - how about 'emergency use' clauses?"

The frustration is incredible, she can barely think. "Either way, I can deal with a reprimand. I can deal with a damned," She marked quotations in the air. "'Termination of my internship.' what I won't lay down and die over is you taking all the damned work I did, forging the overtime with payroll, and assigning the project and everything about it to yourself. That wrong." Her voice drops into the Arctic. "And I'm going to make sure you don't get away with it. I already have."
