Open crates containing plastic wrapped components and pallets bearing specialized and custom made equipment formed a semi circle around the main terminal station and over sized High Density monitor. The overhead lights punctuated a stark contrast of light in the immediate area when compared to the deep shadows around. Now and then the flash of ( Read more... )

"No way."

Positioned as if reclining on a couch, Connor floated 5 feet above the immediate area where Tim was working. Half his concentration was on a game he was playing on his smart phone.

"Leslie Tompkins."

Tim slid partly out of the wall to give Connor an incredulous eye.

"Dude, she's almost my mom. No. Way."

He wiped a smear of grease off his cheek, or at least he tried. It ended up more like a smear.
Annoyed, he retrieved a rag to do a better job of removal.

"Blackfire."

Looking up from his game,

"Hell. Yes."

Tim grabbed a bottle of water and chugged half of it before returning to the opening in the wall.

"You sure? You know she'd like kill you afterwards, or make you her slave or something."

Connor leered.

"Yeah, but I'm pretty sure I'd go with a smile. I'm sticking with 'Yes'."

He looked back to his game.
"Crap, zombie ate my brain. Gotta start over."

"Use the spud bombs. They're cheap and will buy you time."

Tim turned off the welder and collected his tools. He slid out of the wall and began reattaching the panel.

"Mercy Graves."

"Mmmmmmmm...no. No way."

His thumbs tapped across the screen of his phone.

"You done?"

Tim looked up, his expression conveying his skepticism about Superboy's sanity.

'Yes' on Starfire's bug-nuts sister but 'No.Way.' with Lex's hot secretary?"

He finished with the wall panel.

Connor returned the look with a mock air of justified dignity.

"Blackfire might cap me, but she'd do it first. Mercy though, she'd just hit me with kryptonite or have a squad of Lex's goons bust in before we ever went there."

He gave a mean grin.

"Batgirl."

"Which one?"

He cleared some of the boxes away from the immediate area and dug a small remote control out of a drawer.

"Not the blonde. I already know that answer."

He thought about it and then snickered.

"The first one. The redhead."

About to hit the remote's button he froze and looked at Connor is teen horror.

"DUDE! you're sick. She's like my older sister."

"Man what is wrong with you? Is this some twisted freaky clone thing?
I would so not go there."

He tried to shake the image.

"Talia."

"Oh yeah. In a Lazarus pit even." he retorted with bravado.

He nodded towards the high tech console with it's readouts and blinking lights.

"Dude, lets see if you suck with a wrench or not."

Tim rolled his eyes.

"And here I thought Nightwing was a man-whore."

His thumb depressed the red button on the remote and the soft whirl of hidden motors sounded from inside the nearby wall. At the same time, the entire console, monitor and chair assembly began to move and the entire section of floor rotated one hundred and eighty degrees. What now stood before them was a plain desk with school books, a standard PC, chair and a few sport posters adorning the wall behind it. There was no sign or seam of a secret wall to be seen.

"Told you it'd work......you whore."
