Unleash the Beast

Mar 13, 2011 14:23

Africa is nice, peaceful. The Beast was happy living in a pride of lions in Africa, thinking himself one. After months of a happy, simple, animal living, he was hunting, stalking a gazelle to bring back food for the cubs, when suddenly he feels a prick in his side. He turns his maned head to notice a small dart sticking near his ribs. His vision ( Read more... )

"Well now, that's different." Temple said as he saw the Beast's attack upon the Shark. "Seems we have no choice. Gentlemen, phase 2!"

A man with a trenchoat near the tiger exhibit throws off his disguise, revealing a blue and red suit, identfying him as the super-villain Geo-Mancer.

A blonde woman dissappears in a flash of light, revealing a dark-haired man in white. The Flash rogue, Abra Kadabra.

Last but not least, with a leap, Metallo arrived in the exhibit, the ground thundering when he hit the ground.

All three figures surrounded the group.

"Fantastic. Zach - Metallo. I've got Kadabra. Sand, on Geo-Mancer?"

Doesn't miss a beat, this one.

"On it Jay."

He fired off a few rounds of sleeping gas at Geo-Mancer before diving into the ground.

Zach smirks. "A sad little man, in a sad tin can. I've got this." He teleports to a more advantageous position, then speaks.

"Tsnioj, tsur. Sovres, liaf."

Metallo stops as his metallic skin darkens and his limbs become haggard. Suddenly a green runic symbol appears on Metallo, causing the effects to cease.

"Nice try, kid. We knew coming after your buddy Sand may result in one of you mages showing up. So before we arrived we had Abra put up a few protective spells." Metallo looked to a nearby cage with a tiger inside. "How well do you multi-task?"

With a swing, the bars shatter and the frightened animal leaps out. Feeling cornered and threatened, it heads for the closest flesh and blood civilian.

Zach scowls. "Nehtrae egac!" The ground flies up around Metallo, as the mage shifts his focus.

"Pintac!" There is a puff of thick dust around the tiger. Now one could only hope it was in the seventy percent of felines that were affected by it, as he came up with a more solid plan.

No sooner does the earthen cage surround Metallo than it buts apart. Metallo is seen with his arm extend forward, indicating he had punched the structure apart.

"Kid, I've gone toe-to-toe with Superman. You don't have a prayer." As Zach is occupied with the tigers, two beams of green light burst from Metallo's eyes heading straight for him.

Geo-Mancer raises a hand and causes a shield of dirt to rise and deflect the bullets. He scans the area around him.

"C'mon Sand. You're only drawing this out. We're going to take that hundred mil out of your hide no matter what it takes." Geo-Mancer looks, believing he saw some moving Sand particles out of the corner of his eye. "Sorrow what you to suffer and by God we're gonna!"

With this exclamation he extends both his hands into the air, the ground erupting from the spot, rocks spinning and richoteing at their target.

The explosion did uproot Sand from the spot in the ground that he was in, but thanks to his sand form the ricocheting rocks from hurting him. It was like punching a wall of sand; nothing was going to happen to him.

"I would have thought that Sorrow would have wanted to personally obliterate my life in a more complete way, but I guess that I was giving him to much credit in the creativity department."

His body formed in from of Geo-Mancer, and Sand pulled out one of cartridges of gas that contained a particular agent that his mentor, Dodds, used to cause violent villains to become more docile. It basically made them feel like they were on really good painkillers or something.

Sand popped open the cartridge and tossed it in front of Geo-Mancer.

Geo-Mancer had fought Sand enough times to guess what was happening. His hand quickly pushed a button on his mask and a transparent mask sheathed over his nose and mouth. "Nice try, but we came prepared."

Geo-Mancer extended his arms forward.

"I'm as surprised as you, considering what you did to him. My guess is his got something big cooking, but didn't want you to think he forgot about you."

Two slabs of Earth shot up on either side of Sand and as Geo-Mancer brought his hands together, the slabs closed in fast to sandwich him between them.

At least his enemies were learning to adapt to his tactics, but that did not mean that Sand was ill-prepared to combat someone with similar powers to his own.

His body had already shifted back to being sand as the two slabs slammed together, and then he generated several doppelgangers of himself around the Geo-Mancer.

"I don't see what he is complaining about. It wasn't like it killed him. Not permanently anyway."

Sand returned to his normal form and threw out more gas canisters to obscure the vision of his opponent, while his doppelgangers attacked the man. All of this was meant as a distraction, so that his enemy would not see the grappling hook that was heading towards his mid-section.

Geo-Mancer didn't reply back, instead focusing on his opponent. The gas obscured his vision. All he could see were outlines of several figures. He focuses on the ground, causing the earth to lift up and carry the figures upwards. However, at that time the grappling hook connected to his suit.

"Ah crap."

As Geo-Mancer caused the ground to lift up around them, Sand used his own geokinetic power to keep himself on the ground floor. This fight was becoming tiresome to him, which meant he was going to have to think of something that might intimidate the other man into surrendering.

He focused his mind on creating a large fist to grasp Geo-Mancer with while he recovered from the grappling hook that hit him. With all his will behind, Sand hoped to keep the man from using his own powers to break out of it.

"It seems to me that you are losing this battle Geo-Mancer. Why don't you come quietly before I really start to fight back?"

"Hehe, you're right, Sand. I am losing.." Geo-Mancer says with a grin.

"Right on cue." Temple Fugate had set up far in the distance for this shot. The weapon resembled a sniuper rifle, but was far more advanced. Temple pulled the trigger, sending a single bullet at Sand's unprotected back. Except it wasn't a bullet, it was a capsule filled with a mutagen of his own design. Concentrated H20 along with a few chemicals to give it a pervasive solidity, it would solidify sand particles far quicker and longer than standard water. When it hits, Sand would be little more than a solid mudman with a fancy gun. Then things would get interesting.
