Not many would describe the Batcave as being 'homey', 'cozy' or any other adjective that denoted 'warm and welcoming'. Tim wasn't just anyone however

Alfred is hovering close behind Tim, where his expression cannot be seen. His tone is even gentle when he remonstrates, "Now, Master Timothy, mind that you chew before swallowing."
The familiar voice is coming from the grandfather clock that conceals the passageway into the Batcave.
"I have a computer genius with me, slightly worn, but I'd still say she's in near-mint condition.. .. okay, very fine, with the leg thing. But still very collectible."
You cannot get into the Batcave without someone knowing about it, so by the time Ted and Barbara are at the clock, someone else is waiting.
Judging by his terrycloth attire (a towel thrown hastily around his waist), Dick was still in the shower when the notification of the arrival was sent upstairs. He lowers the just-in-case taser and opens the entrance to the Cave as fast as humanly possible. "Thank God," he breathes. "Ted?"
"In the flesh. Wow, were my security codes out of date, or are you just happy to see me?"
Ted's taken the time to switch back to civilian garb, so no guests at Wayne Manor would know the Blue Beetle was visiting. He's also carrying a bespectacled redhead.
If seeing Ted come to rescue her had made Babs happy, seeing Dick nearly made her cry with the same emotion. Holding off, however, she waved and, pointing to her injured leg, said, "I need to borrow your Alfred. And a spare chair, if it isn't too much trouble," she added.
"Uh," She looked down at herself, wrinkling her nose. "Now that you mention it, a shower probably wouldn't go amiss either."
Ted, Beetle, doesn't matter. Dick's pleased to see him anyway. He gives both Ted and his bespectacled redheaded burden a hug, then he takes a look at Barbara's leg. "God almighty, Babs, what happened?" he asks as he moves to take her from Ted. "You look terrible. Alfred!"
"I didn't quite make it here back at the start of all this Darkseid mess," she explained. "I got clipped and pinned by a small delivery truck headed out of Gotham," she said. "Then spent the next few days trying to reach someone in Bludhaven on a mini radio I built, without having the signal intercepted by Darkseid's people in Gotham."
Switching her arms from around Ted's neck to Dick's, she gave the former a grateful smile. "Luckily, Ted was on lookout." In a quieter voice she added, "I made him bring me here, instead of a hospital. I wanted to be with family, not strangers."
"Darkseid's portal was generating a lot of ionic interference - it's started to subside, but that's why we had such communications issues in the city. I picked up her signal as I was finishing a sweep."
He takes a seat as Dick takes up supporting Barbara.
"She was pinned under a truck for a good long while. Looks like no circulatory damage, though, so I figure a broken bone, torn ligaments at worst. All stuff that'll heal."
"Thank you, Ted," Dick says in a heartfelt tone as he places Barbara delicately on a chair. "Alfred's made some food, if you're hungry." He looks like he does not care about dripping on the expensive Persian rug or his lack of proper attire; he's interested in checking out Barbara and being grateful to her rescuer.
Alfred gives Ted something of a bow, a deferential little gesture that manages to convey a great deal. "Mr. Kord, a great pleasure to see you. Whatever accommodations you desire we shall be delighted to provide. A guest room awaits, if you wish, and in the breakfast room is Master Tim with a great deal of food. I should be happy to assist you once, that is, I have ascertained Miss Gordon's state of well being."
Right now he'd be hard pressed to think of anyone that can outcook Alfred.
