Malefic Intentions

Sep 29, 2010 18:00

Ma'alefa'ak could feel it, his body was nearly healed of its wounds. The burn scars on his body, a souvenir from his last battle with his brother, were nearly gone. His strength, almost returned, he could feel his the pinpricks of energy as he tested his connection to his Martian vision. He stretched and morphed his arm into a serrated blade, then ( Read more... )

Despero's Rage jla_villains October 13 2010, 22:14:06 UTC
"Aaaaaagh!"

Despero was a hair trigger away from killing everyone in his path. The stubborn human Hourman countered his every tactic, Strange's soldiers continued to pepper him blaster shots, somehow the human Mr. Teriffic was surviving his encounter with both the Matron and her soldiers along with the areas Chemos, and to top it all off that ridiculous song was still playing!

"ENOUGH!!"

With a roar Despero unleashes a massive psionic shockwave, determined to destroy the minds of all present. The Chemos would be safe, but not the Psions. If Henshaw didn't like it..oh well.

"NO!" Henshaw feels the psionic wave rush over him, and being mostly a mechanical being he's unaffected.

It's all he can do to look up again, and see that there's nobody else around. Nobody. It's as if the entire population has been Zeta-beamed away.

"Oh, hoo hoo, haha." The Cyborg sits himself on the ground near Malefic's currently prone, but undoubtedly recovering form. "It seems we have won the day, my martian accomplice. It looks like Despero may have lost his head, however."

Henshaw pats Malefic's knee, or what poses for a knee anyway, and begins transmitting a signal to the planets that commissioned the takeover. "It is successful."

Malefic may no longer possess telepathy, but he is still a Martian and as such recovers quicker than most from the psionic attack.

"I'll kill that brute for this." Malefic growled as he regained consciousness. "My head is reeling."

Malefic looks at Henshaw with curiosity.

"I thought that was a deception to tell the humans. You mean you actually were commissioned to do this?"

Henshaw stares blankly at Malefic. "Indeed. A consortium of races and planets, from the Anndrann to the Spider Guild; they signed a charter declaring that Rann was to have its technological advances stopped. They did not specify how, but I'm sure none of the voters will argue with our methods."

He smirks. "They wouldn't dare, now that we have all of Rann's power at our disposal."

"And how did you pull that off? You yourself have a reputation for genocide, as do I, why would they turn to you? Not to mention such a collection of civilizations are a fractious lot. How could they agree on any particular course of action?"

"When they believe you're the famous Superman, defender of Earth, they will often do whatever you suggest or threaten.." Henshaw grins, showing his metallic teeth.

Malefic laughs heartily at the Cyborg's statement.

"I can relate to that. It amazed me how quickly the humans were willing to trust me upon taking my brother's visage."

Malefic turns serious.

"So what's our next course of action?"

Henshaw is already taking *his* next course of action, tapping away at a panel in the lab that's mostly charred, and then contacting all of the machines in the nearby vicinity with his technopathy.

"Rann is armed once more, and all weapons are pointed to the skies. Once our Psion friends have landed we can begin to strip this world of all of its power, and begin to make life in our own image, however we may like to do so. This planet is a blank canvas, and we will paint beautifully upon it." Henshaw's voice is monotone, and emotionless, yet his eyes glint with a malevolent sparkle.

"My lord, news from the front," comes a voice that if Henshaw remembers is Grallex, the technician who reported the JSA's presence. "It would appear sir that someone managed to access the planet's zeta-beam technology. All of Rann's inhabitants are gone."

Grallex's voice becomes more somber.

"Also, Lord Despero's attack has..the matron and her forces have been completely lobotomized."

Henshaw battles with the emotion of rage and the feeling of mirth, and decides to remain passive. "We are aware of the disappearance of the inhabitants Grallix, and I mourn for the loss of your matron. You are now in charge of Psion operations, and I task you with bringing me several thousand of your ruthless number. I trust you can rally a small army of dissidents, what with the way your race is often treated."

In truth Grallex had little love for the old crone that lead them and was more than happy to take charge.

"Yes my lord, that will be no trouble at all."

Henshaw receives a message from the Psion mothership.

"This is Gleen, reporting. I've managed to fend off the Green Lantern that attacked the ship, but he has done significant damage to it. So far I've managed to use my ring to prevent further problems, but it will be some time until technicians can repair all the damgage."

Gleen holds his breath. There are some things even a member of the Sinestro Corps must fear.

"I see." Henshaw shuts his communicator off, and thinks awhile. He switches it back on. "You have done well, driving off the Green Lanterns. Their interference was not expected in this event."

Striding in the Rann science chamber, he drums his chin with his fingertips. "Report back to Sinestro, and give him the news in person. I am open to the possibility of an allegiance with your leader."

"There is something you should know. The Sinestro corps is not the unified juggernaut it once was. Sinestro lost face with many with the defeat on Earth, there are still those that follow him, but there are several factions within the corps now that will not answer to Sinestro. Other members have gone their own independent way, myself included."

Gleen was quick to placate any anger from the Cyborg.

"However, my neutrality puts me in an advantageous position for you. I can contact any of the faction leaders for you, including Sinestro. I could even try and convince a few of the independents to join your cause. After all there are few that inspire as much fear as you."

"Interesting." Henshaw leaves the comms in silence for a while, before picking up again. "I have no interest in organising the Sinestro Corps beneath me. With your being a fractious lot, I have no desire to rule over squabbling fearmongers."

Henshaw taps some digits into a panel on his forearm before continuing. "Still, assemble those of your fellows who you feel could contribute to our new War World. We will strip Rann of its technology and natural resources, and then we will use our newfound power against another of our enemies."

"I certainly don't blame you there, lordship. It took the sheer power of the Anti-Monitor to bring such a diverse and powerful group together."

Gleen sighs in relief as it appears Henshaw is not angry at his lack of a strong connection to Sinestro.

"I know a few who may be interested. Depends on what you're looking for though. If you're looking for technological expertise, there's Sn'Hoj, though he's likely to run off when he learns everything there is to know about the technology you possess. Tekik would be more reliable in that aspect, though he's firmly in Sinestro's camp. Seer Ruggle may be useful, though her expertise is more along the lines of explosive devices."

"As for more organic devastation, two names come to mind, Low and Slushh. Low would appreciate any organic bodies for his 'offspring' and Slushh would rival your Chemos in sheer ecological devastation."
