From someone else, the question might be self-serving - but Ted Kord just wants to make sure he didn't get this man nearly killed by offering him a job.

"Take it slow, Anatoli. I'm going to have some guards posted on your room, and make sure you've got the best doctors. Did you see who attacked you, or get a name?"

The kind of monster that could do this to a person...

"Well, we'll figure it out. I know some folks who know some people in the G.C.P.D. - whatever they find, we'll help them follow through on it. Just get your rest for now, okay?"

[azure_avenger]

He raises an eyebrow at the grab, thinking a moment before he responds.

"We'll discuss it when you're out of critical condition. Until then, I'll make sure not to poke my nose in far enough to get it cut off, agreed?"

"It's the least I could do. You've done a great job, Anatoli - I hope to see you back at work in a couple of months. Get some rest."
