J'onn was one of the first to react to Hal's summons. When hearing the explanation, the glimmer of hope...something that J'onn, despite everything, has been able to find on a regular basis...resonated in J'onn's mind

As they arrive, Arthur is not entirely certain what to expect. This is not a situation he handles every day. It isn't even something he deals with on a yearly basis. Still, he is here for a friend and a worthy soul. As the teleportation effect fades, he looks around to see what is visible.
"I am going to find Wotan and wring his neck," Zatanna muttered as her friends sprang into action.
She whirled aside as a demon-zombie-thing came dangerously close to her and lobbed a fireball at him. It swooshed through him and hit two more of his friends, disintegrating them.
Then she turned and started doing the same to others.
Superman chuckles, winking at Zatanna. "Come on, now. I'm sure he just wanted to give us a solid warm up!" He looks positively perky, which may betray just how anxious the Man of Steel is about this mission. He hasn't put the act on /this/ much with the League in years

An old adage spang to mind as Dinah withdrew her gore covered fist from Dead Thing A and turned towards Dead Thing B, catching sight of the demonic herbavore rising out of the landscape and snorting at Supes. She couldn't remember where she'd heard it, maybe from her Mom, or one of her extended "Uncles", or someone else entirely but it went, 'Meddle not in the affairs of Gods, for you are squishie and go good on toast

Diana quickly unhooks her lasso and snaps it out to settle around a nearby pair of leering demons, who scream and thrash against the shining thread.
"Artemis, guide my hand!" With a tug the pair is lifted off of their feet and then tossed into the crowd, being pulled back towards Diana and bowling over their compatriots as they go.
The things Zatanna's facing are a little bit smaller than the dino demons, which suits her just fine. She's more magic than muscle anyway.
If only there were less of them, she thought as she ducked the blow from one of the zombie-demon-things. Magic sparked in Zatanna's eyes and her hands crackled with energy as she cast minor offensive spell after minor offensive spell. As spells hit, demons incinerated, having been hit by fireballs, or became stuffed toy rabbits, having been hit by a transmorgification spell. In a few cases, her opponents were lifted and thrown towards the swarm of zombies attacking her.
Hal's eyes narrow, and beams of energy burst forth from his ring as he rises above the ground - green tendrils seeking out the heads of the shambling evil things around them.
The creatures start to dogpile on CM3, body after body forcing their way atop. He's able to fight off one, then five, then ten before the legions just multiply faster than he can swing his way out of.
Until "CAPTAIN....MARVEL!!" A bolt of lightning rips through the underworld sky, exploding the pile. A second shout, and the hero stands singed and steaming, looking for the next wave.
The instinctive attempt to speak to some of these creatures telepathically, was likely a bad idea. Even though they may look animalistic, some even aquatic, they very much are not. The attempt left Arthur's head ringing, throwing him off balance.
As the demons swarm him, Arthur grabs one, swinging it into the others. There is cracking and crunching as they break each other and he clears some space around himself.
The legions of Hell (or at least this corner of it) don't back down from the fight. They are of many colors (red, blue, black, yellow, etc...) and many compositions (some are aflame in hellfire, for example, while others are metallic in nature).
One thing they are definitely doing, almost surreptitiously, is guiding the heroes, through the battle, in a certain direction.
This is a detail that doesn't escape the Mistress of Magic's notice. She uses a hellfire demon to melt a metallic demon before extinguishing the former and whispers "yhtapeleT!" under her breath.
On the lookout, guys. We're definitely being guided somewhere. As hard as this is, I don't doubt that it could be much harder if they wanted it to be.

Once you GOT there, however, was another story.
The environs were what you would expect of "a" hell...cavernous spaces along with an uncomfortable level of heat.
Oh, and several hundred zombie-esque demonic beings. Surrounding the heroes.
They look at the heroes as they fade into view on the ground and growl.

"Looks like the welcome wagon was waiting for us. Suggestions, oh Magick-y Ones?"

Hal's ring glows with his willpower, green energy flowing out to protect his less durable companions from the unnatural heat.
