Mogo, the planet Green Lantern. Besides being a useful member and training facility for the revived Corps, Mogo has served as something of a mascot. "Look!" the Green Lanterns say, "We have a planet! Aren't we boss

Amon Sur is quite right to avoid Arkillo. The fanged fighter's still nursing a grudge, and in fact only the implant of Parallax has stayed his hand.
But then, something far more important than the Ungarite coward catches Arkillo's eyes.
It's the Lantern boy. Rayner. In their last battle, Arkillo swore he'd make Rayner kneel before his better.
Arkillo's gonna enjoy keeping that promise.
With hand gestures, Arkillo directs his team to fan out and engage Rayner's men. The idea is to cut Kyle off from his team, leaving him alone and without support.
Amon is unaware of Jordan's aiming at him. He's quite happy cocooned in his yellow web, generating small flechettes that go flying through space towards anything coloured green.
Spying Arkillo out of the corner of his eye, he rolls over to take on the other flank of the Lantern army. Let them come. Nobody can withstand the Sinestro Corps. Everybody will fear Amon Sur.
"Arkillo." Enkafos's dustier than death voice intones into the savage's ear. "Remember the plan. Despoitellis is nearly ready to directly manifest on Mogo. Do not allow the Green Lantern Corps to intercept the Children of the White Lobe."
Enkafos. Arkillo has to literally stop himself from gnashing his teeth. The ancient Sinestro Corpsman is the mastermind behind this attack, but Arkillo has nothing but disdain for him just the same. He sits safe in the heart of Ranx and sends the rest of the army to put his plan into action. It would almost satisfy Arkillo if one of the Lanterns were to get past their defenses and force the old one to fight for his life.
"I have not forgotten the plan." Arkillo growls, directing more of his troops ahead of Rayner's squad just the same. As much as he wants to break Kyle in two with his bare hands, he's too professional to risk jeopardizing the whole plan for the sake of a grudge.
The web of entwined golden energy absorbs the majority of Jordan's blow, but it still sends the Ungarite staggering and reeling through space a short distance, before he spins and snarls at the distant emerald figure.
"Disappointment? Maybe." Giant alien-looking amber spiders begin to form at Amon Sur's flanks. "And I'm sure he would have been so proud of how readily you accepted Parallax!" With a swing of his arm, the spiders advance on the Green Lantern.
"Readily? Says the man who took in Parallax while on his knees?"
A green web forms around the spiders, beginning to constrict them. To go with the double entendre, Hal pulls in a pair of asteroids on a colission course with Amon Sur.
So focused on the giant spiders, and trying to manipulate them so that they cut free from the green webs, Amon gets struck once, and then twice by the asteroids aimed at him.
He takes a good few seconds to recover, by which point the spiders have faded somewhat. "On your knees is where you shall be before the power of Amon Sur, Green Lantern!" The yellow web around Amon strengthens, and tens of tiny golden stars fly from his ring towards Hal.
Hal hides a little grin - as long as he can keep a psychological edge in this, Amon Sur's relative inexperience should balance out with the enhanced powers he receives from Parallax.
"You know, I thought a man possessed by a fear entity would be scarier. Maybe the uniform is undercutting your menace."
A green tower shield appears in front of Hal to deflect the tiny stars.
Kyle had fully expected Arkillo and his goons to come swooping down after him, but the monstrous Sinestro had recalled his own squad just as soon as he had dispatched them. Despite the enormity of the battlefield, Arkillo is pretty hard to miss.
"Maintain formation. We're going to need as much firepower as you all can muster," Kyle says, directing his squad, confident that they are all in position. With a green flash of willpower-fueled energy, Kyle is quickly enveloped in a suit of segmented armor with a crested helm, riding a bright green warhorse, a dog shaped like an enormous German shepherd running along at his side, a bright green gladius flashing in his hand.
"Hang on, Hal!"
Borne on these constructs, Kyle charges toward Amon, gladius held before him, horse snorting with each gallop, and the great dog leaping for Amon's throat.
Amon Sur is a good match for one Green Lantern, but when two very powerful Green Lanterns turn on him he begins to think twice. Not fear, you realise, just good tactics. His web of armour forms into a shield to deflect the war dog, and he takes the opportunity to begin flying in the opposite direction.
"A tactical retreat, I'm sure you understand.." To protect his rear, he expels some of the last of his stored power into erecting a large spiked wall behind him as he tries to gain protection by nearing Arkillo.
Somehow, he'd figured the bearer of Parallax to be a more fearsome opponent than Amon Sur seems.
Kyle only has to glance at the chaos around him to realize the truth of Hal's words. The clash of green and yellow constructs are the most impressive sights on the battlefield, of course, but amidst the displays of willpower and fear made manifest swirl green streaks of light - trails of the rings of deceased Lanterns, seeking others with the force of will necessary to wield them.
There are very few yellow trails.
It's a matter of simple arithmetic: the Green Lanterns cannot kill, but Sinestro's Corps can. And while the Lanterns can replenish their numbers, it takes time to train new officers, while Sinestro's followers will merely be locked away in science cells.
"We have to hold the line, Hal," Kyle says, tugging on the reins as his warhorse rears up onto its hind legs, looking up at the huge glowing orb of Mogo.
It's not that Amon Sur is a glutton for punishment, but his unending need to hurt and humiliate both Hal Jordan and the Green Lanterns makes him think twice about retreating fully. As he nears Arkillo, he cocks his head and makes a split-second assessment. Where Arkillo would probably kill him given the opportunity, the Green Lanterns would not.
Time to bring out the true power of the Sinestro Corps. "What do you fear, Green Lanterns?" Projected from his qwardian power ring, constructs of both Abin Sur and Major Force in pure gold manifest, and charge the two Lanterns.
"No!!" Amon equips himself with a bright golden set of what can only be described as chaos armour, and hurls himself towards Hal Jordan. Time and time again this usurper belittles him! Well, no more!
"Die, Green Lantern! DIE!" Amon's face curls into a picture of absolute and utter hatred as he swoops around the construct of Major Force and strikes at the Green Lantern with a serrated amber sword.
But then, something far more important than the Ungarite coward catches Arkillo's eyes.

And ripe for the beating.

For the time being, Rayner will have to keep.

"I only knew your father for about five minutes, Amon, and I'm still pretty sure you'd be a disappointment to him."

Hal gets serious again, looking around.
"Kyle, I don't like these numbers. The Green Lanterns are a police force, not an army - we're getting pushed back."

"Change our dance partners."
Hal goes after the Major Force construct, blasting emerald rays into its surface - rays that twist and tear at the construct.
