What could possibly go wrong?

Merlyn is a very happy assassin right now. He knows Green Arrow's identity. He knows Speedy's identity. He's carried out five assassinations in Star City over the past couple of months, all with no reprisal, simply because he could time the murders around when Green Arrow and Speedy were in another part of the city.

Hell, while Oliver Queen was at his charity gala, Merlyn was killing someone. While he was involved in an important board meeting on the southside of Star City, Merlyn was killing someone on the northside. And while he was involved in a very public battle at a museum at Star City (thanks be to Count Vertigo for that little tip-off), Merlyn was killing a high-ranking member of staff at Queen Industries.

Never before had his contracts gone so well, so flawlessly, and with so little hero involvement. And now reporters had stated on Merlyn's favourite online feed-site that Queen was on a date tonight with a magician or entertainer of some kind. So Merlyn had had a look through his small book of contracts, found one that was a long long way away from that restaurant, and had decided to act.

"This really could not have gone any better..." His new student was also learning incredibly quickly. He was grateful to Talia for allowing him an opportunity to train a new League of Assassins member. It wouldn't be long until he sent the kid out on his first contract.

Perched in a window very high up, he pulled his bow free and peered through a telescope that he held with his other hand down to the sidewalk. It took some skill to balance on a window ledge without having to use any hands, but he'd had a long time to practice. He thought of himself as a hawk, or raven, waiting for the small kill far far below. He strung the bow, pulled out a black-tipped arrow, and took aim. "Goodbye, Professor Leyton."
