Juggle, juggle, juggle

Bruce glances at his phone and sees that, some time ago, Selina returned his call and got his new smart-ass Billionaire Playboy voice mail.

Time to return the call before he goes out with Talia Head, which, like the Beatriz La Costa dinner, should make headlines.

Ugh.

In his hotel suite he dials Selina's number and waits. This should be fun.

It almost goes to voicemail.

Her voice comes over the line, there are people in the background.

"Hello."

She's really begining to hate phones.

He pauses. "You're not alone."

[femme_du_chat]

"Yes, actually. I am. I am, however, also in a public place at the moment."

She's alone and it has never bothered her before but it seems to bother her a hell of a lot right now. There was nothing for Christmas. New Years was a mess. Birthdays are rapidly approaching and there is a place in her life that she sees she could fill over time.

But she doesn't want to.

"I'd like to talk to you for a minute. Probably not in public."

Twenty minutes later, on the dot...

Ring, ring.

"Hey."

There is no noise in the background this time.

[_darkknight_]

"Hi." He clears his throat, swallows something - knowing him, coffee or water - and then continues, "Sorry I got pissed about Diana. Embarrassed."

There is silence from Selina's end for a few moments. Sorry?

It takes her a moment to find her voice, "It was spiteful of me to do."

Ten minutes and a shower later, Bruce has switched to another cell phone to dial a very, very private number: Barbara Gordon-Grayson's Oracle line, highly encrypted and more secure than anything the President of the United States could dream of owning.

"Bruce. To what do I owe the pleasure?"

Barbara sounds busy but then again, when doesn't she sound busy?

"Need something ASAP." When doesn't he need something ASAP? "Location of Calculator and Merlyn, logistics on their residences, and a DNA sample to apply to a duplicate of one of Merlyn's arrows. I'll have Tim deliver it."

"Merlyn is simple. I can get that for you now. The rest of it, not as much." There is a small pause, as she does something else in the background for a few moments, "Anything specific on choice of the DNA sample?"

Three hours later, Bruce calls Selina as he's tying his tie. Supper with Talia is still, of course, going to happen.

Selina's also getting ready for a night out, though she's got some travelling to do before she'll actually be getting dressed for dinner itself. She'll be happy to get out of this motel, certainly.

"Hello."

"Tim will be coming by in," he glances at his watch, "twenty minutes with the arrow and data on its location. Merlyn has it in his hideout, and Green Lantern should be distracting him at the appropriate time to get him out of the way. Hang onto the original once the switch is made; I'll get it from you tomorrow once I'm back in Gotham. Questions?"

"You're assuming I can get all of this done tonight." It is a big assumption, especially since she isn't in the right part of the country. Most important jobs she does take her a long time in planning and something like this is not something she wants to do half way.
