Nightstar's condo is not in the most expensive neighborhood in Philadelphia, but the building is well constructed. To Supergirl's eyes, the skeleton of the building looks strong enough to withstand gale-force winds as well as earthquakes ... or maybe a terrorist attack. As they draw closer, it also becomes obvious that the wiring is slightly better than the residential code requires ... and by the time they land on Mar'i's balcony, Kara can see evidence of a highly sophisticated security system.
Mar'i presses her hand against a small glass panel on one side of the French doors, which swing open silently to admit the two superheroes. Vertical blinds are easily pulled aside to reveal a colorful living room crowded with plants. The walls have been painted in a warm terra cotta. A high-end entertainment center runs halfway along the length of one wall, including shelves for the DVD and game collection, and there is a large sofa upholstered in a tropical fabric. Completing the tropical theme are numerous houseplants, hanging from the ceiling as well as resting on the end tables.
"Welcome," Mar'i says with a smile. "Are you hungry? I can see what's in the fridge, or we can order delivery."
