The Rogues of Gotham

Nov 14, 2008 23:50

The invitations have gone out to the proper sources - anyone who's anyone in the Arkham Alumni, plus a few of the more mundane but reasonably reliable 'sane' Gotham villains might expect an invitation. Anyone with that certain sense of flashy panache that distinguishes them from the common thug ( Read more... )

Harl let go of Ivy just because she was nice and got her own drink from the bar. Pure sugar+caffeine+lots of fizz+awesome. Almost as awesome as her costume.

She'd make Pammy spank her later.

Giggling she drank from the bendy straw and looked around the party. The party that was now at its most bestest with her here.

"Is it hot enough in here for you, Harley?" Firefly hasn't had a drink yet, having not removed his mask. "Perhaps I can warm you up."

"Oh, I'm plenty toasty warm," Harley said, picking at the outfit a bit, "This just proves their all crazy though, this thing doesn't breathe at all. But I make it look way better."

She really did. No one made a Bat outfit look quite as good as she did. But if she walked around in this all the time people might start expecting her to be responsible or something.

That wasn't happening. Responsibility was boring.

"Bet you wish this place was on fire," she said with a mischievous glint in her eye.

"Damn right." He lifts the lower half of his mask up, revealing horribly charred skin. More badly burnt than a normal human should be able to stand without continuous dosage of painkillers. He gets one of Harley's bendy straws and sips a beer through it. "Fancy torching a place later? My treat. I've got some gripes with the Odessas. We could burn down one of their Commie delicatessens."

Scars and deformities didn't bother Harl. What really got her to squeak with joy was a truly abnormal and crazy personality. She took a long sip of her cola and considered the invitation with the deepest look of thought she could ever muster. And Harley's 'deepest' look of thought made her look constipated as she puffed her cheeks out and even blew bubbles in her drink and shrugged out of the hot mask the costume had.

"I dunnoo.... fire is neat and all..." but where was the point? She could get setting fire to a fireworks factory. That'd be fun. And full of sparkles and explosions. But then again, she never did get a chance to really study what made arson for arson's sake tick.

"I'll hafta see what Pammy's doing," Because she was with Pammy right now and not Mistah J, and that was that. Though she did look around quick to see if she could spot the Joker. "You just going to light it on fire, or did ya plan on actually blowin' it up?"

That was an important thing to know.

"Hell yes, I'll be blowin' the place up!" Firefly laughs at that, and flips down the hatch on his mask. "We'd be burning it, watching it explode, and torching any poor bastard that runs out of the building. Nothing so beautiful as watching some turn into fine white ash right in frony of ya."

Firefly sighs. "I'm afraid you've been jilted. Poison Ivy left earlier, with Scarecrow shortly behind." He leans in. "If you like, I'll let you strike the match..."

Flick.

"Hi." The Joker says, having calmly appeared out of approximately "nowheres" and lit a match off of Firefly's face-mask. "How's it going, pal?"

"Pammy left...?" Harley squeaked, everything he had said before that going up in smoke. Besides, lighting people on fire was only funny when they were firefighters. Then it was like when those lion trainer guys got mauled by their own cats. Ironic.

And then Mistah J showed up, and Harl's eyes widened to the size of dinner plates, a feat in and of itself, given how wide they normally were. She was caught between a squeak and an eep. Because here she was dressed up as Batgirl talking to some other guy. That couldn't have looked good.

"Mistah J! There you are!" She was happy to see him. So very happy.

"Batgirl!" The Joker takes a positively Silver Age affectation, holding his other arm in front of his face like he were Snydley Whiplash. "We meet again-and you're no longer Asian! Clever ruse, Dark Dame, but the Joker can never be fooled by a switch of suits, nyah!"

There's a brief silence, perhaps guaranteed by the fact that the Joker has yet to remove his arm from around Firefly's shoulders.

"...pfthah hah HAH!" Joker chuckles, wiping at his face with a handkerchief attached to the end of a dangling switchblade knife, seemingly having forgotten the knife was there. "Sorry, sorry Harl, saw the get up and I just couldn't help myself." Joker then looks to Firefly, "I said 'Dark Dame' because that was the title most period courts considered par with 'knight', by the way. But, yes, I believe I asked you a question-"

Firefly wants none of Harley Quinn if the Joker's about. He quietly takes his beer, and makes to get to the other side of the room.

"Gosh." The Joker blinks, and does NOT blow the match out, but instead wets his pointer finger and thumb, crushing the fire with a bit of pressure. "That was kind of boring."

"Toodles!" Said the Queen of Oblivious to Firefly before turning her attention to the Joker.

ALL of her attention, "Gee, yeah, it kinda was. Should I have strung him along or something?" She asked, tilting her head to one side. Maybe she wasn't all that oblivious. It was fun to play like it though.
