With the party already in full swing, two more costumed Titans make their entrance at the soirée, linked arm in arm, dressed in what, at first, look like period costumes. How he got talked into this, Grant will never know, but there he stands, dressed as Will Turner from "Pirates of the Caribbean," complete with fake facial hair. If anyone asks, this is Mar'i's idea - he was just along for the ride.
Of course, considering what his girlfriend had chosen as her costume for the evening, Grant certainly isn't about to complain. Having been up to his eyeballs in homework since the semester started, this is probably the first time in months that most of the other Titans have seen him. It's good to finally get out and get back in touch.
Looking over those assembled for the party, Grant pauses, his brows lifting when he spies Jack Sparrow. "Oh, you've got to be kidding," he says, glancing at Mar'i.
Mar'i checks her wig in the nearest reflective surface, then leans over to reassure Grant, a move that not coincidentally reminds him of her costume's low neckline. "Your butt looks much nicer in these pants."
"Hey, Donna," Grant says, glancing over her costume. Wow. No, see, this is wrong - he shouldn't be checking out her legs like that.
Thankfully, Mar'i's posture has the effect of drawing his attention away from Donna's legs. When they'd initially discussed costume ideas over a catalog in Mar'i's apartment, Grant had been totally certain about the idea. Then he saw the costume she was planning on wearing to Roy's party - it hadn't taken more than thirty seconds for him to agree.
"You didn't plan this with Roy, did you?" he asks the Tamaranean, grinning at her and gesturing to "Jack Sparrow."
"No!" she protests. "I didn't know he was going to dress as a pirate at all." Again she gives Roy's costume a critical examination, then gives Grant's the same treatment. "I think you look wonderful."
He laughs, smiling all the while. In terms of coincidences, Roy's costume is pretty low on the Titans-related weirdness scale. "So do you - you look great as a brunette," Grant replies, giving her a quick kiss on the cheek. How she had managed to get that wig to stay in place, he'd never know, but it hardly mattered - she looks incredible.
The smile only grows wider at Mar'i's comment - the wig really did look wonderful on her, but Grant could only imagine what a pain it was to wear something like that, not to mention everything else that had gone into that costume.
Turning his head toward Donna - and keeping his eyes focused above her shoulders - Grant couldn't help but laugh as well. "Yeah, no kidding. I'm not sure how that happened. Speaking of, where is Lian, anyway?"
Grant turns toward the sound of the voice, then glances down, smiling broadly at Garth's son dressed in his Superman costume. "Hey, kiddo. Great costume," Grant replies. It has been quite a while since he's seen Cerdian, even longer than the last time he had seen Lian.
"Long time, no see. Did you and Lian go trick-or-treating?" he asks, glancing briefly at Mar'i. Grant's had a good deal more experience with Lian than with Cerdian, but he knows they're good friends, if only because their fathers are.
"We did a little on our way here, but I haven't gone out with Lian yet," he admits. He's standing between Damage and the door. "I'm sure she's around here somewhere... I just saw her. I can go find her if you want."
A brow lifts as he watches Cerdian, and Grant exchanges a quizzical look with Mar'i before returning his attention to the boy in the Superman costume. "Oh, sure. Just tell her her Uncle Grant and Aunt Mar'i are here. I bet she's got a great costume," he replies, glancing over at Donna and flashing her a smile.

And then he turns and scampers off down the hall.

Don't bother trying to figure out how he got there, sipping at a Soder. Even wearing bright red, he manages to pop up without warning.
