"It is nothing, nothing like hot if you've ever been in them."
Leaning over, Bette looks at the food for a few moments, trying to decide what she wants next. Coffee sounds good but a lot of effort right now. So, instead, she grabs a pancake, tearing it in half before taking a bite.
"So. How do you think this whole getting it out of our systems thing is going?" She's grinning. Oh, she's grinning.
She eats more pancake in silence for a few moments.
"I could get behind that plan." She hadn't entirely realized how hungry she was until she started eating. "There are things we haven't gotten to yet..."
Leaning back, she pulls his head down toward her mouth so she can whisper into his ear. "... slowly.... or a handstand... maybe... shower..." She's obviously got a few ideas.
"What about you? You've got to have a fantasy or two unfulfilled...."
And now he's off thinking about the mechanics of handstanding... it couldn't be more than showing off, could it? Then again... she kinda gets off on that...
Oh, wait, question...
"Well... of course, there's the whole thing with you and Jesse that'll never happen now..."
It's out of his mouth before he can consider the wisdom of even mentioning it...
"Yeah." Bette makes a small face at that, more regret than anything else. "Not much I can do about that one unless I suddenly get the power to be two people at the same time."
Turning her head, she kisses his jaw, as that is what is easiest to reach.
He closes his eyes at that, forcing a little smile for her benefit.
Jesse... she was surprisingly good at fulfilling his weird little fantasies, once they got past all their initial awkwardness... she was perfect, really - devoted to him, borderline obsessed maybe, but... so perfect. And he pushed her away anyway. Why? Because it was either that or she'd end up sobbing in his arms like Linda did...
Stop it, Wally. Don't spiral.
His arms tighten around Bette, and he buries his lips into the crook of her neck.
The hug almost causes her to wince but she forces herself not to. Bette can be oblivious at times but, really, she only misses so much. Kissing his temple, she turns a little more toward him, wishing she were more graceful right this moment. Her hands slide into his hair as she holds him - because he seems to need it.
There should be something she could say here but she can't think of anything that doesn't sound corny or uncaring or condescending. She wishes she were better at this. So, she holds him, knowing they agreed no moping but she'll be here if he needs the time.
"You're not imposing. I don't think, right now, you possibly could be imposing." She finishes turning and straddles his legs, though she's trying not to show a wince as she does it. "Though, I'm not sure how sexy I am right this moment."
She wants to ask if he's okay but she doesn't know how to do it. Normally when she chooses to be blunt, her timing is awful.
Bette chuckles, "Slower? There is something to be said for driving a man to something like this."
Leaning in, she wraps her arms around him, putting her head on his shoulder. "As long as you're sure." She wouldn't mind him leaving but the idea of waking up to find him gone, for some reason, bothers the hell out of her.
He always had to give Linda time to recuperate, too. Probably for the best - it's a good form of self-discipline, as opposed to the time with Jesse, since they both had the same powers and could just go absolutely nuts on each other and stop thinking about everyone else.
Bette murmurs something to him, before nuzzling a little closer. Having eaten even a little bit and being close like this is kicking in the naptime instinct.
Wally lays down with her long enough to let her drift off to sleep, which she very obviously needs.
However, the Room Service folks are still bringing things up, so once the next knock happens, he slips out from beneath her, putting a blanket and a pillow in his place, and lets all the rest of it come in.
Eating like a pig to recharge his own batteries. It's what speedsters have to do.
The temptation is to head out and leave a note once he's done. He'd just decided against it when suddenly there's an alert on his comm unit. He's still on active League duty.
Gotta go to work.
So when she wakes up, she'll find a decent amount of food left behind tastefully, and a note right on the plate.
I owe you about ten dinners, and call me anytime to collect. Thanks for being incredible. - WRW

"Well, I don't want to put you in traction... so we might have to do it in installments, y'know."

"I see. What's on your mind, dirty bird?"
Hah, Ollie's a dork. There's no way that could ever sound natural...

A deep cleansing breath, and suddenly, his hands have moved up to cup her breasts.
There you go. Now it's physically impossible to be unhappy.
"Sounds like you got plenty of ideas, and since I'm imposing on your room service, least I can do is help you give them a run-through."

A kiss to her chin.
"I don't want to be pain for you, okay? Just pleasure."

His eyes close over her shoulder.
Still so damn messed up.
