The Hyperion Hotel is very far removed from its heyday of the 1950's.   It's only months removed from the time period where Jasmine had led the world to a brief peace.  It has since sat abandoned.

Until now.

Eight Kriaphor sit around a drawn circle.  A young lady, no older than 12, lays, bound and unconscious, in the center of the circle.

Never one to pass up a good entrance, Angel kicks open the front door - sword in hand.

"Sorry, boys. It's check-out time."

"You again." Sorrow says. "Obviously someone who's uncomfortable with the idea of change. Brethren, dispose of him."

From the back entrance, a Kriaphor demon's unconscious, limp form is thrown through the doorway right into another one.

Through the dust, Sand Hawkins walks through, Wirepoon gun in hand. He fires right into the back of a Kriaphor 10 feet in front of him, then yanks hard, sending the Kriaphor flying towards him. Sand palm-shots him into the back of his head, sending him flying towards the right, then
pulls the wire to his left. The resulting swinging arc knocks over four other demons, although they remain conscious.

This isn't as strong as Sand's used to being - his strength is maybe 1/2 of what he can normally access on his earth - but it's plenty strong.

"Nice to know things don't change across dimensions, Sorrow."

At Sorrow's command, the Kriaphor still standing converge on both men, splitting between the two. They are superstrong, capable warriors - but even they know their role is to keep these infidels at bay until the spell is completed.

Sorrow whips around at the sound of Sand's voice. "You...what are YOU doing here?"

Sorrow's voice shifts to rage as the Kriaphor converge on Sand. "This earth by my estimate had no true metahumans other than those they call "Slayers". Why couldn't I find you...no matter. You don't have the JSA with you this time, Hawkins - I'm going to enjoy this immensely."

Sand's eyes grow wide as he flips a Kriaphor over his head, then engages another one with a spinning heel kick that sends it flying backwards, but not making him unconscious. These things were super-tough and Sand wasn't going to be able to one-punch them.

"You know me...so there isn't an alternate earth Johnny Sorrow, then? You're the one I know and despise."

On the last word he drops under a Kriaphor punck and elbows it right in the solarplexus, causing the beast to double over and have difficulty to breathe.

Duel pistols announce Welsey’s arrival, as he fires over and over into the Kriaphor closest to Angel.

Supernatural strength and reflexes guide Angel's sword, fending off blows from a pair of charing Kriaphor demons, then following with a beheading strike.

The Kriaphor that has the clip emptied into it is still moving, but not by much, hunched over the ground. Another of his brethren moves in from the side and kicks hard at the arm holding the gun - it feels very reminiscent to being hit by a blunt object by Faith.

The sword beheads one demon, but the other moves in for a low tackle, slamming Angel against a wall in an attempt to disarm him. A second demon moves in to assist.

Wesley is knocked to the ground, the force of the blow sending his pistols across the floor and well out of reach.

He’s still on his knees when the collapsible swords make their appearance, thrusting upwards into the Kriaphor’s gut.

Angel snarls, his demonic visage revealed, as he headbutts the first demon viciously, and prepares for the second.

"You're looking for the King of Tears? I'll give you all something to cry about.."

The sword implants, but not before the Kriaphor hits Wesley across the bridge of his nose with a forearm.

The second demon brings Angel into a full nelson for about half a second before falling forward, driving him facefirst into the ground, then lifting him back UP and flipping him over his head.

This particular Kriaphor is somewhat larger than the others, with strange markings on his face and chest.

The first demon shakes off the affects of the headbutt and gets up.

Angel lands, cat-like, on his feet, in a crouch after being flipped. He leaps forward, grabbing at the larger demon to hurl him at the Kriaphor threatening Wesley.

Which is fortuitous, given that Wesley is flat on his back after that last shot from the Kriaphor.

The large demon flies over Angel's head right into the other demon over Wednesday, knocking both halfway across the room.

The other Kriaphor, 6 in total, that were guarding the ceremony are now starting to advance on Angel, fists flying. It was quickly becoming a numbers game.
