You know? This house thing? It's so coolShe and Daddy lived in apartments. The best ones were at Titan Tower, of course. That's when things were the best before. Daddy was pretty cool most of the time, even if he did get sort of weird on occasion and it got worse there when Mom died. She's not going to think of that though. She's going to ( Read more... )

When she gets to the door, she realizes she's late. Roy might be out already. Damn.

This session went much more smoothly then that one session where things seemed to go to hell. This one was more in control, but no less intense. A look at her children and the side she sometimes had trouble remembering - the parts that made her laugh and feel like she might not be screwing them up or leading them to their grave. As much as she loves Lian and as much as she will love her future children, Bobby and Jen's life and death will always affect her outlook.

In her own mind, she worked them into the peace she held. She knew that they were well cared for on the other side. That acceptance was slow in coming. It might always be a process.

She's well into personal recriminations about leaving Lian for more than 10 minutes, even if she could take care of herself in the middle of a major supervillain raid. The guilty look freezes thet.

"Okay Lian, first I'm glad to see you. Second, what did you do?"

That complete throws her. He told her? Then. Who else did he tell? Old news, but...startling.

That's also when her stomach growls. Wait a sec. When did she last eat? She gets up.

"Okay, before I tell you about that, I'm going to start making a sandwich." Should be enough time to get her mental footing on that one.

"I ate them." She looks up on the grocery list. "Oops, didn't write them down either."
