"Longer," says Arion, nodding. "By your time, my Atlantis has sunk from mankind's view, claimed by the magicks at its heart. Likewise, in your time, I am a remnant of what I once was, a whisper in the waves to Atlantis' champions."
He holds the amulet up to eye level, and examines it.
Arion regards the time-lost heroes, and it's clear to him that there will be a confrontation if he moves to attack the girl in anyway. But that's not his intention. Indeed, he's not even certain Gemma Marsters indeed becomes The Witch Queen. There are other ... candidates.
"My associates lost track of Gemma Marsters some years in your future. No record of where she went. But mages are notoriously hard to track."
He waves away the conversation, unwilling to pursue it.
"But that's not why I brought you here. Indeed, it's my hope to make this all moot. If we cannot prevent The Witch Queen from rising, we must prevent her from infecting Fate in the first place. It is not enough to stop it at your time period. The virus spreads itself across timelines, causing divergent realities ... all of which turn Fate from among the world's greatest defenders, into one of its greatest threats."
