Regrouping

With the new information from her encounter with the King of Hobos, Kendra sent a message to the team. They needed to meet and compare notes. She had good information for Roxy to work on and they needed to plan for the various powers they would be facing.

She's in the Aerie pacing. Her helmet and mace are sitting in a chair nearby.

"You're going to wear a hole in that."

Roxy is doing pull ups on some parallel bars in the corner and has been doing so for a good while. Nearby, a laptop scans for something.

Stormcrow glides in, hopping off the wings and joining the others.

"So, what's the plan?"

"Yeah, well--it would look good with a hole there," Kendra mutters, glancing down at the floor then over at Roxy. As Stormcrow arrives, she turns and nods succinctly.

"We kick some ass of our own. I have some info that might be helpful about our little friends from the docks. Such as what knocked you for a loop, Roxy? It was Ace which happens to an android..."

"Nice work, Kendra," Kathy replies, pulling her mask off as well. "I've been doing some homework, too. Turns out the Yangze is where they're operating out of. They've got Jackson Rand -- no guesses as to which giant playing card he dresses up as -- hanging out there and keeping watch pretty regularly." She smiles mischievously.

"So it's called Ace, huh?"

The laptop beeps and Roxy runs over to it.

"I've been trying to track it. Nice to know it's got a name. Near as I can tell, it's got both thermal and motion tracking and both are highly sensitive, with a automatic compensator for shorting it out with too much stimuli. The AI systems is very effective. I wouldn't say sentient, but it's awfully close."

"I've been, um...sort of skin ridding it. Sort of."

She's not sure what that means. She'll ask in a second.

"King is Joe Carney, self-proclaimed King of the Hobos. He has some sort of pheremone powers." She tries not to think about what almost happened. "He can control women at the least. I don't think men though. So we have to protect against that somehow."

She glances to Kathy. "Is sounds like that makes Rand the Jack. The Queen I didn't meet but she has some sort of illusion powers. SHe can make them blend in with a background so they appear invisible until they strike. Ten, we already saw what she can do."

A smirk appears. "And then there are their toys. Laser eye for Jack, blaster for Ten, wrist lasers for the whole gang, Ace is able to throw around buses...Y'know, stuff you don't usually find at Radio Shack." That sounds like Roxy's area. She turns back to her. "Skin ridding?"

"So how did you escape from it

"I..." Oh dear God, she's blushing. "Can only guess. I noticed there was something odd going on. I wasn't acting right. Maybe it is the resurrected souls. Maybe it's the exposure to nth metal. But when pushed to do things that I normally wouldn't, something triggered in my brain and just pushed it off." No, she is not admitting that it was sexual in nature and no, she isn't telling them that she realized her feelings for Carter and that helped. Because that won't help in the coming situation. "If we can get some sort of ventilation system that will block pheremones--breathing masks of some sort? That would keep the problem from getting overwhelming I think. There would be some minimal absorption through the skin but not enough to overtake our senses." Please don't let them ask more questions. Please.

Not that Roxy is speaking English already. All that computer mumbo jumbo is confusing for Kendra. She can get the computer on and download MP3s. That's about it.

"So, we're looking at breath masks and filters for the pheromones, and some sort of sonar or heat-vision to give us a chance to bypass their invisibility. Right?"

[blonde_techie]

She oblivious to Kendra's embarrassment. It might have something to do with the screen she's almost necking with.

"Oh sure, I'll have to tweak some of the old Batwoman gas filters for pheromone discharge. The only problem will be you won't be able to smell a doughnut with one of these if you were standing in a Puffy Fudgy shop."

"Heat vision. I have that covered. I was thinking Ace might have some cloaking tech considering what else is on him." She gets up and walks over to a drawer. "Here. Not high fashion, but they should work out." She shrugs at the pair. "Sonar would get bad if the fight went by the water wheel of the boat. Sorry."

"Probably if we counter it at least once away from the wheel, they will assume we have it beat all around and won't use it again. Well, we can hope. I haven't meet the Queen so I don't know if she is smarter than Joe Carney. I would hope so because he is quite the lowbrow scumball." Yeah, she's still testy over that whole attempted seduction thing. Go figure

"Oh, if it's Joe Carney, I've been running a urban legands search on him. Probably a lot of low level thugs." Yup. Roxy, cheerful and helpful.

Kathy grins as she pulls her mask back on.

"Sounds like a plan, then. Well, girls... let's get cracking!"
